A major milestone for California research — @CAGovernor Newsom has signed SB 895, the California Science and Health Research Bond Act, placing $7.5 billion in research funding before California voters on the March 2028 ballot. Reaching this point took an extraordinary effort from researchers, students, patients, and advocates from across California. To everyone who spoke up in support of investing in California research: thank you.

⭐ Member Spotlight: Leticia Moses-Oceguera ⭐ In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we're spotlighting Coach Mo, who continues to redefine and push the boundaries for women coaches. A former all-conference point guard for the women's basketball program at UC Merced, Oceguera has helped UC Merced men's basketball post its two highest-scoring averages in program history as a coach. She is the first female coach in UC Merced men's basketball history and, during the 2024-25 season, helped the team win its first California Pacific Conference Championship and earn the program's first NAIA National Championship berth. 📌 @UCMercedBobcats 📌 @UCMercedMBB

Awesome visit to Castle Air Museum with Deputy @ENERGY Secretary James Danly and @CommerceGov Assistant Secretary Taylor Jordan. We spent a lot of time with students talking about NASA, aviation, space and all the exciting work underway across California, including our three NASA centers and the incredible capabilities at our DOE national labs. With @POTUS’ vision and support, there is a lot to be excited about, from returning to the Moon and preparing for Mars to pioneering fission-powered spaceships. And of course, we had to check out the airplanes, including an F-100 previously flown by Neil Armstrong and Gus Grissom. A real piece of NASA and American aviation history. Great students, incredible airplanes and an exciting future ahead.
