I also resigned last week from @AmerChemSociety after almost 11 years because of the continued assaults on @cenmag’s integrity. I am so sad for the amazing people who work here and our readers. No one at ACS is acknowledging the problem or seems to be working to fix it.

The @AmerChemSociety has gutted the journalism of its flagship magazine, C&E News. I did not renew my student membership after graduation. I told the fundraiser who called me that as an academic postdoc, I didn't see why I should help fund million dollar executive salaries

What the hell are they doing to @cenmag ??
My last day @cenmag and ACS was this past Monday. I’m on the market for a new position and excited about what the future may bring.

It's not super well known, but thanks to Bibi's support (and outstanding editors like @GinaCVitale, Luis Carrillo, @carmendrahl, among others) we launched a series of Spanish translations for C&EN articles, running continuously since 2015. More 👉🏻 cen.acs.org/collections/espa…

I do not believe they would let that happen. Not for a second. And it must be said amidst my doom and gloom that all the incredible @cenmag reporters and editors and staff continue their incredible work. C&EN has had ups and downs. It will ultimately thrive.

Replying to @HartungIngo @cenmag
@SamLemonick's thread is 100% on point. I'll add one addendum: Bc of the hard work so many of us put in to raising the quality of the journalism at c&en, many folks found themselves w/amazing career opportunities (esp w/recent recognition of importance of science journalism).
