If you're a fan of Law & Order SVU, you probably watched this past Thursday's episode, which featured predators who use manipulation, coercion, and psychological warfare to target children in the darkest ways imaginable. This episode gave real insight into both the law enforcement officials who heroically deal with the horrific nature of these crimes and perpetrators and the work that remains to close gaps in laws and systems that enable these offenders to hide behind screens, anonymity, and outdated statutes while young lives are shattered. That's why I continue to call on the U.S. Senate to pass my Coercion and Sexual Abuse Free Environment (CSAFE) Act, which the House of Representatives adopted unanimously earlier this year. This legislation provides long-overdue legal clarity and serious consequences for criminals who coerce and exploit children. We cannot rest until we've done everything possible to ensure the protection of innocent and vulnerable boys and girls. Pass CSAFE now!
