Rhun is going to keep repeating the lie in the hope that everyone believes it! 🤦‍♀️
Brilliant from BBC Walescast! @RhunapIorwerth caught out in lie after lie! What a disgrace to @Plaid_Cymru More 💣 coming next week. Ps the “bereaved campaigner” who agrees with his “review” left our group last year after allegations of bullying were brought against them. We don’t stand for that in our group. Pick your partners Rhun 🤦‍♀️ @jamswilliams85

Oh @mabonapgwynfor 🤥 The truth always comes out in the end. Are you seriously going to go down with this ship? You were the one who rang me to apologise for @Heledd_Plaid’s interview! You’re one of the ones who told us a “review” was terminology to not give the impression of a long and expensive inquiry in the election. We trusted you Mabon. We genuinely thought you were a decent man. Answer this Mabs - teapaw.org/covidbereaved/status/2…

So disappointing to see @mabonapgwynfor calling @CovidBereaved liars as well 😢 I thought he was decent. Good job I’ve kept the receipts…..This was the day of the “review” interviews with @Heledd_Plaid and @mabonapgwynfor ⬇️

In other news, where ordinary, honest, decent Welsh people live, here’s my son collecting his post grad certificate from Oxford Uni at the Royal Society this evening. He’s worked very hard whilst also working full time . Very #ProudMam 🥰🥰🥰🥰

How dare you @RhunapIorwerth 😡 My integrity is intact. Don’t try and mucky up bereaved families in your political games.
Sam here- I’m in London for a thing. I just wanted to ask @RhunapIorwerth a direct question.

🙄 I don’t think I can roll my eyes back any further!
Interesting article. @RhunapIorwerth is lying. We were deliberately misled about the manifesto. More on this next week. He says “other bereaved families” think he is doing the right thing? Who are they and where were they in the UK Covid inquiry? If it’s who we believe it may be, he/she was asked to leave our group as many of our families raised concerns of bullying and harassment against them. We will not tolerate bullying and their concerns were heard and immediate action taken. We are a non political group of bereaved families. Integrity matters to us. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cr78…

Sam here - 🙏I need a favour. It will probably take you a few minutes but I'd be eternally grateful. 🤯WHATS HAPPENED - I have personally been lied to by Plaid Cymru MSs. As Co-Lead for Covid Bereaved Families for Justice Cymru, I trusted the personal and public assurances that a "Covid Review" in their manifesto was still a statutory Inquiry. Its a long story but in short they played me and yesterday they went back on their word. The last two weeks have absolutely broken me. But we will fight on. 🙏 - Next Wednesday, there will be a debate, I'd be really grateful if you could email your 6 MSs to ask for support. Template below and you can find your 6 MSs here - senedd.wales/find-a-member-o… Dear MS Next Wednesday, 11 November, the Senedd will debate a motion calling on the Welsh Government to establish a full, independent, judge-led public inquiry into the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic in Wales. This issue is deeply important to me. Families across Wales lost loved ones during the pandemic. They deserve to know whether mistakes were made, whether lives could have been saved, and what lessons need to be learned. Scotland has had its own independent Covid inquiry. Families in Wales deserve the same opportunity to have decisions made here properly scrutinised. We do not want another review. We want a full statutory public inquiry, with the powers to compel witnesses, examine evidence and hold decision-makers to account. This should not be about party politics. It is about truth, transparency and justice for those who lost their lives and the families left behind. As one of your constituents, I would be very grateful if you could attend the debate on 11 November and vote in favour of motion NDM9345, calling for a full Welsh Covid-19 public inquiry. I would also appreciate it if you could let me know whether you intend to support the motion. Yours sincerely, [Your name] [Your address or postcode]

Plaid have really lost the mark on this one. A non-statutory review isn't going to provide any of the answers needed because we already know that information was withheld from the UK COVID Inquiry, and there'll be no mechanism for this review to change that

The trauma felt by all our bereaved families this morning is like a bereavement all over again. Today we’ll support each other 💛 @Plaid_Cymru have lied and been cruel about it too. After everything we’ve been through in 6 years, their actions hurt the most. We are broken 💔

You have 2 options - ✅A) statutory inquiry, costing £10m, delivers in 18 months and has confidence of bereaved families. ❌B) non-statutory review, no legal powers, run by a Cardiff Uni prof, delivers something in 26 months, will cost millions and holds no confidence. To quote @DafyddTrystan it will cost “some millions”. They chose B (but won’t explain why) @Plaid_Cymru have lost the plot 🤯 Can someone on the inside hold an intervention? @RhunapIorwerth @mabonapgwynfor @Heledd_Plaid @DelythJewellAM @jason_oco @HelenJennerMS @AndrewRTDavies @natasghar @KenSkatesMS @as_penarth @PeredurPlaid @Sioned_W

Jokers.
Prof Daniel Wincott of @cardiffuni will be chair of the Wales Covid Review (we heard today). One question, who currently pays his wages? 🧐 Was it £66m that @WelshGovernment paid Cardiff Uni last year? Who better to scrutinise @WelshGovernment than @WelshGovernment. Let’s call it what it is, an internal review! More on this to come. Ps good to see @Plaid_Cymru’s pledge to bereaved families being mentioned by the Prof! (No we didn’t see it either) @RhunapIorwerth @mabonapgwynfor @DafyddTrystan @Heledd_Plaid @DelythJewellAM @Sioned_W - you’re the gifts that keep giving.

My co-lead @CovidBereaved, @SamSmithHiggins saying it from her heart. @Plaid_Cymru if you had any decency you'd be ashamed but you used bereaved families for votes. It's utterly despicable and heartbreaking. @BBCRadioWales @ITVWales

After years of supporting @Plaid_Cymru I felt very sad to stop my membership of the party. They have not only let us down, appallingly, but I wonder what Gwynfor Evans & all the greats who fought for social justice would make of this bunch of liars?

We’ve just been told that the press has already seen the Wales Covid Review announcement. We’ll find out like everyone else in an hour. @Plaid_Cymru delivering a masterclass in how not to do things. @DafyddTrystan @RhunapIorwerth @mabonapgwynfor @Heledd_Plaid @DelythJewellAM @PeredurPlaid

I’m sat in the gallery and can’t believe what is coming out of @RhunapIorwerth! So the review won’t even have witnesses swear an oath!? 🥴 The entire Senedd is laughing at @Plaid_Cymru. #politicalsuicide @DafyddTrystan @mabonapgwynfor @Heledd_Plaid @DelythJewellAM @PeredurPlaid

Today we get to find out just how much of a clusterf3ck @Plaid_Cymru are going to make out of this 🤦‍♀️ We really despair. ✅ They have a statutory inquiry, that costs £10m and delivers results in 18 months. ❌ or a little review, backtracking on 6 years of commitment and without us. The priority for any gov announcing a review/inquiry is to make sure the victims have confidence in the process. See video below ⬇️🥴
🚨TRUTH BOMB 💣 We have worked for months with @mabonapgwynfor to devise a statutory Wales Covid Inquiry that costs £10m and delivers in around 18 months. We trust him. He knows the issues. Now we have @DafyddTrystan, who has met us for only 30mins, who is a brand new MS and a new Minister. In this video ⬇️ you’ll see Jo Salway nodding away, a @WelshGovernment official whose name is splattered throughout @WelshGovernment’s evidence in the @covidinquiryuk. She was involved in the response that we want scrutinised. The officials that Dafydd is referring to are the WG Covid Inquiry team who have spent the last 4 years trying their best to keep the @WelshLabour WG away from scrutiny. Remember when every single cabinet minister had deleted their WhatsApp’s? Yep, they were the people saying this was true. Remember when the UK Inquiry had to issue S21s because WG had not submitted evidence? Yep, same team. It is now unbelievable to us that @DafyddTrystan is leaving this to these officials. @mabonapgwynfor made a terrific speech in March this year -he understands us and we feel he will not be such a pushover with the civil servants who want to bury a Covid inquiry so desperately. @RhunapIorwerth - your judgement is in question here. We need a statutory inquiry that is set up far away from @WelshGovernment civil servants. The fact that you are being advised by them on this is a clear conflict of interest. This is in no way meant to show any disrespect to Dafydd - he is by all accounts a very decent man. He is the very obvious fall guy here and we actually have sympathy with him. Thank you @AndrewRTDavies who has always supported us. @DelythJewellAM @Heledd_Plaid @PeredurPlaid @Sioned_W @Adamprice @cefincampbell @DelythJewellAM @LlyrGruffydd @natasghar @jason_oco @as_penarth

❌Another reason why a @Plaid_Cymru “non statutory review” WOULD NOT work - 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒We are the little people taking on @WelshGovernment @PublicHealthW etc ✊We’re unfunded Welsh bereaved families so we would have NO LEGAL REPRESENTATION. 💼Meanwhile @WelshGovernment etc have a legal team and barristers on call. ❓How would this be a level playing field? @DafyddTrystan @RhunapIorwerth @mabonapgwynfor are setting this up to fail. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿All we have is the spirit of over 13k souls, lots of integrity and a knowledge that things went very wrong. We also have 4 years of expertise as the only people asking questions of Wales in the UK Covid Inquiry. With a statutory inquiry, all core participants have equal access to legal counsel. It’s allocated in a measured and fair way. The unfairness is clear and is another reason why we will not engage in anything that does not have statutory powers! #DavidAndGoliath @DelythJewellAM @Heledd_Plaid @Sioned_W @PeredurPlaid @Adamprice @cefincampbell @siangwenfelin @natasghar @AndrewRTDavies @jason_oco @WillHayCardiff

I forgot to do my #ReluctantCampaigner. I had a mild panic attack this morning - first one in over 12 years. Our bereaved families have also been in distress. That’s the real impact of politicians making personal & public promises, and then breaking them #WalesCovidInquiry
