反虐待动物法本身就不合理，因为动物本身就是可以处置的财产。这个虽然残忍，但不过是食物链不可辩驳的事实。人在杀动物吃肉时不会觉得残忍，因为对蛋白质的需求已经超过这种同理心了。其他的部分只不过是为这种食物链的残忍增加几份虚伪的姿态而已。尽管我厌恶虐待动物的行为，但我仍然认为这类立法是弊大于利的，首先最关键的就是会给人带来不便，一旦立法，就会有人上纲上线，要求屠宰必须要符合某些人道的方式，这会直接增加成本，反应到食品价格上。禁止了农户屠宰，整个产业链还容易被资本所垄断，产生剥削和政商勾结腐败。第二就是很多美食料理将会消失，比如有的国家一反虐待为理由禁止活煮龙虾，还有人为此发明杀死龙虾的机器。这都是毫无意义的浪费。第三是给一些道德原本低下，对社会不满的人赋予道德大棒，成为道德警察对他人集体霸凌。比如很多的爱狗人士，对他人的饮食习惯加以霸凌来发泄自己的怨气，却又占据道德制高点。无论从哪一个角度来说，反虐待动物法都是表明看似高尚，实则毫无意义，只会添加成本的恶法。世界各国应该主动废除这样的恶法，该保护的动物只有野生濒危物种
