Two words you never heard until a few years ago - conflate and existential. Now you can't switch on the TV without someone using them but many people don't understand what they mean.

How many perfectly good goals are we going to see wrongly disallowed at this World Cup?

Again. How many gift penalties do they have to give Celtic. I don't know why the rest of the teams compete in the Scottish Premier League as clearly the only rule that matters is Celtic must be the Champions.

As a Yorkshireman I would just like to remind the @BBCNews and the other London centric media that being Mayor of Greater Manchester does not make a person the King of the North.

Well done Rochdale. Justice is done.

Always interested in the names of football teams that take my eye. The days when churches were the origin of many teams are a rich source. Birdwell Primitive Methodists are still probably my favourite but I recently came across Tinkersclough Wesleyans (Hanley), a great name.

How sad to hear of the death of Rod Haider, England's most capped Amateur International, a great footballer from a different era of football and, to all accounts, a thoroughly decent man.

So neither @Metpoliceuk or the Govt can ban the weekly hate marches because the Met can cope with policing tens of thousands albeit at great cost to all concerned but West Midlands Police can't police a couple of hundred football fans and the authorites there can ban them.

I don't know how you get £122m from a limited company that has declared itself bankrupt. Sounds like a Trumpian claim to me.

He's the son of Prue Leith. I didn't realise that.

Tom Cheshire of @SkyNews commenting on the Unite the Kingdom march refers to Lancashire and Yorkshire as 'these sorts of places'. What does he mean? London centric media dividing the country.

Sending love to everyone at the march against antisemitism: a reminder that hatred against any minority is not a British value.

Just returned from a week's holiday where I stayed away from any news-sport or politics-but it appears Chelsea won the Club World Cup. I thought the competition was an irrelance before it started and so its proved to be. Now to catch up on a real competition-the Tour de France

Really sad to see Chris Wilder go from @SheffieldUnited First Postecoglou, now Wilder. Football club managements don't want characters in team management any more even though its character that players respond to best.

Went to a birthday party last night at which there was not one but two GPs. I told them it was the first time I had managed to speak to a GP in person for about 3 years.

Is anyone, including football fans, even remotely interested in the Club World Cup?

Oh @SpursOfficial I am really disappointed. The Premiership needs Ange. Hope he stays in the Premiership. Actually I think @LUFC should appoint him. They could consolidate next year and win the FA Cup the season after.
