Lemme catch up @naima with yesterday #BlackMusicMonthChallenge
On Our Own
Bobby Brown
Ghostbusters 2 OST.
One of the biggest IP of the time proving our pulse is the culture. Lyrics describe the movie but also of self-improvement & ultimately black people are "on our own".

To be a woman is to live in a world fundamentally conditioned by the omnipresence of male force, this is an inherently risky position and it’s not surprising that a movement aiming to mitigate it would become popular among them. Men who abuse their power over women are probably as responsible for feminism as activists are. It is quite a shame that the sexes are divided rather than collaborative.

I remember speaking to a Korean girl about this. And her main pet peeve on the dating apps is when non Korean people (especially Singaporeans) fetishize her for Kpop.
And she’s a huge baseball fan (ofc she’s a big fan of Shohei) and doesn’t follow any Kpop, doesn’t really watch any Kdramas (even the classic ones).
So it puts her in a tough spot since she actually wants to talk about sports but the guys who want to meet up with her are all “kpop kpop kpop”
So I understand what the OP video is saying too 🥹🥹🥹🥹

The issue is that people can't/won't admit that all hobbies have a basic barrier to entry. Not every hobby will be super affordable. Some hobbies are greatly accessible to some, and for others, not so much. This isn't always inherently malicious.

The thing about Google clearing a forest in Finland without permits is that they decided that whatever fine they might face is worth it. It doesn’t cost them as much as not getting the land cleared.
Because like ALL things, if the punishment is a fine, it isn’t really illegal for rich people.

I've been married for 20 years so take this perspective with a grain of salt.
But knowing what you've done wrong at least let's you fix it.
The absolute worst thing my wife ever does to me is give me the silent treatment when I don't even know what I've done wrong.
It hasn't happened too many times but the few times it has it's been terrible, if I've done something wrong just tell me what it was so I can make amends and prevent it from happening again.

So much of this discourse seems to be unitedstatians thinking that “comparing” something only means approach it in the way you would a dick measuring contest
If someone compares two novels and their themes, do you think it only means which one is longer, or better?

you cant really compare misogyny to anti-blackness. Conversely you cannot compare anti-blackness or misogyny to misogynoir. You need to look at misogynoir from that specific lense. Same with misogyny, transphobia, and transmisogyny, or transmisogynoir.

It's very frustrating being told what my boundaries should be as a new pornstar. I've told several agents I'm not interested in family porn, they all say the same thing: "but that's 95% of gigs"!
I tell them all the same thing. That I don't care and I'll take my 5% of opportunities. Some of them can respect that, most will just get annoyed about it.
To the new actors thinking of getting into porn, do what you're proud of and don't be swayed.

As a Black New Yorker born and raised in the South, I’ve learned that the most dangerous racists aren’t Confederates in the South or Trump supporters on Long Island. They’re white liberals in NYC, Portland, Seattle, and San Francisco who don't believe they're racist!
