Tata Power contractual employees strike at Bhubaneswar posing as dead bodies
They complain (exposed!) wrong billings, imposition of unnecessary penalties, over charging on cables for connecting to homes & other illegalities
All add up to injustice towards domestic consumers
Their personal demand is to be taken in as formalized employees
Once demand accepted, they will re-join work to loot consumers AGAIN

MMDR -- disguised blatant plunder & desertification of Orissa
People get nothing for the immense trust they placed
Will airline Pilots in India now be forced to communicate with ATC in Hindi only ?
Next Gov't must undo this madness of re-naming rules & law books in Hindi while there is very little qualitative change
Especially those that have global standardization
Eventually this will happen in other countries too
📺 “We reported events one-sidedly for years”: Serbian TV apologizes to viewers after Vučić's party loses the election
Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) opened its news broadcast with footage of celebrations following the Student List's election victory — scenes it had failed to show the previous evening.
“For years, we failed to fulfill our duty. We kept silent, turned a blind eye, reported events one-sidedly, and failed to ask the necessary questions. For that, we owe our viewers an apology,” news anchor Goran Eror said.
Following the controversy, RTV's acting editor-in-chief Nenad Čačić resigned.
A similar incident occurred in Hungary, where state television also apologized to viewers after Viktor Orbán's election defeat.
May have a field day with all the loud meaningless shouts and screaming but sincerely hope Orknob does not damage Orissa & AP
Clean Up, folks
Why do so many Indians believe someone else will clean up after them?
This mindset didn't emerge overnight.
It has deep historical roots.
For centuries, Indian society was organized through a caste hierarchy in which occupations—including sanitation and waste removal—were assigned by birth. Communities placed at the bottom of this hierarchy were expected to perform the work considered "impure," while those higher in the social order were expected to avoid it.
This wasn't simply a division of labor.
It was a division of dignity.
When cleaning becomes associated with certain people rather than everyone's shared responsibility, keeping public spaces clean becomes someone else's job.
Even today, sanitation work continues to be disproportionately carried out by historically marginalized caste communities. That continuity reflects how deeply social expectations can persist, even after laws change.
Sanitation workers deserve far greater respect, pay, and safety than they receive.
Also, many responsible citizens cleaning public spaces despite having no obligation to do so are looked down upon.
This is why India's civic problem isn't only about education or fines.
It's about inherited attitudes.
If we want better civic sense, we cannot ignore the social structures that shaped our relationship with cleanliness.
Real civic sense begins when we stop thinking of cleaning as "low" work.
A society becomes cleaner when every person believes:
"If I create the mess, I clean it."
Not because of fear of punishment.
But because public spaces belong to all of us.
The opposite of caste hierarchy is individual & shared responsibility.
The day we stop expecting invisible hands to clean up after us is the day we begin building a truly just & civic society.

How dumb that today's Gov't designates itself as a 'regime'
As i learnt long back, the word 'regime' comes from military Regiments
In a democracy it is an 'administration' of this or that political party
Administrations do & must change in democracies
The Ayes have it
The Ayes have it
When some smartypants try talking wise & speak about dialog in Parliament not on the streets, they deserve to be laughed at
The only relevant dialogue in both Houses are above 2 lines uttered by the Chair
All arguments/counter arguments are meaningless jacksh^t
Gov't side always wins
Wrong to burn King Ravana, a pious Brahmin
Glad to see his effigy hitting back at these elements of Darkness

Earlier the Congress, more than the BJP, was scared of the AAP & its leaders
Now again that self styled proprietor of the Opposition seems troubled by Cockroach Party (CJP)
Wonder if there be a tacit mutual adjustment unwilling to let other players in
Difficult to understand reasons of refusal since money spent was from tax payers', not private
Such decisions tend to become precedents
Does the country have any choice left but to bow to an industrialist
