🚨 2026 ESC Heart Failure Guidelines my top takeaways from Munich Several important changes in how we classify and treat HF. Here are the ones that you need to take note of #ESCCongress 🧵👇 
1. HFmrEF is gone • HFrEF now includes LVEF <50%
• HFpEF = LVEF ≥50%
• “Acute HF” becomes decompensated HF
• Stage A–D classification adopted

Great discussion today on inflammation in HFpEF/HFmrEF with Dr. Lam. My take home: HFpEF/HFmrEF are systemic syndromes where comorbidities drive chronic inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, microvascular inflammation, fibrosis, and stiffness. Dr. Lam highlighted the clinical opportunity: hsCRP ≥2 mg/L can help identify inflammatory risk, and POSEIDON showed ~2/5 patients with HF have high inflammatory risk supporting future anti-inflammatory strategies across the HF spectrum.
