Why the fuck are Indians hated so much? What have they done to deserve this level of hatred? Have Indians promoted terrorism? Have they colonized your countries? Enslaved your people? Stolen your homes? Taken away your families? Kidnapped your children? What exactly have millions of ordinary Indians done to deserve this much racism and hostility? Is it because they're educated, intelligent, ambitious, hardworking, and competing for the same jobs as you? Since when did intelligence and ambition become crimes? Since when did working hard to build a better life become a reason to be hated? If your problem is job displacement, then why aren't you directing the same anger toward artificial intelligence? Why not question AI? Why not question ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Anthropic, OpenAI? AI has the potential to displace far more jobs than Indian immigrants ever could. Yet somehow, the Indian engineer, the Indian student, the Indian doctor, and the Indian worker become your enemies. Why? Because it's easier to target a human being with a different skin colour or accent than to confront the actual economic forces changing your world? And understand one thing clearly. If an Indian refuses to engage with your racism, if they ignore your insults, if they choose not to respond to your hatred, it doesn't mean they lack a spine. It means your hatred isn't worth their time. Indians don't owe you an apology for being educated, ambitious, hardworking, successful, or simply existing. Being Indian is not a crime. Being successful is not a crime. And your insecurity is not a justification for racism.

🇮🇳 Between 2011 and 2020, India restored 21.76 million hectares of deforested and degraded land, according to an IUCN report. That puts the country close to its 2030 Bonn Challenge pledge of 26 million hectares, one of the world’s largest restoration commitments.

This disgusting barbarism sets an expectation and a new tradition that elephants will be killed to celebrate future national events I agree boycott Botswana Botswana is heavily dependent on tourism and this will send a clear message to Botswana to stop this cruelty
A day of deep shame and condemnation for Botswana as people swarm to feast on 23 elephants slaughtered to “celebrate 60th anniversary celebrations”. Botswana has a huge cattle herd—roughly equivalent to the adult human population. They also have an established beef export industry—they don’t need to slaughter elephants for food. The Botswana Environment and Tourism Minister issued complimentary hunting licenses to 20 administrative precincts. The licenses also include other wild species such as eland, kudus, South African oryx, impalas and wildebeests. I hope tourists show their disgust at his decision by boycotting Botswana for at least a year. What kind of message does it give to poachers when the government sanctions killing elephants for a feast? There will be mourning in Botswana, but not by the diners.

Don’t be angry by the patronising racism here. That’s standard at @TheEconomist. But do laugh at how brainless this is. Conservation and protecting creatures has been civilisational culture in India for millennia. This is the creamy layer of racism: sneering, ignorant, erudite.

Agents are being treated as self driving but before maps existed, it feels you are moving while going nowhere. FSD "WORKs" today bc earth is mapped. Coding agents are early age cars, it needs you driving them through unknown if you want novelty. Cars led to more drivers not less.
Microsoft AI CEO, Mustafa Suleyman: > 8 months ago: most white-collar tasks will be automated by AI within 12–18 months > just now: in 10 years, only 5% of what humans do will be replaced with AI this needs some clarification.

Despite how it looks from the outside, Canada can be a deeply frustrating place for young, ambitious people. It genuinely saddens me to write this because I love this country deeply. I’ve traveled coast to coast with my dog simply to experience as much of Canada as I could. I’ve been here for ~8 years. I earned a PhD from one of the country’s top universities (University of Toronto), worked legally throughout my studies, now working at the frontier of science and technology pay more in taxes than the median Canadian earns in income. My status? Still a work-permit holder, sitting in the Express Entry pool with no clear path or timeline to permanent residency. At the current pace, it could still take years. And I know I’m far from alone. If this is how Canada treats the people it says it wants to attract and retain, something is fundamentally misaligned. Who is designing these incentives? And are policymakers even aware of the people the current system is pushing away? @MarkJCarney @LenaMetlegeDiab
We’re looking to attract the world’s best and brightest researchers and graduate students! Canada is home to world-class institutions and offers clear pathways for international students to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees. From January to June 2026, graduate students accounted for 21% of new study permits issued, compared to 12% during the same period last year. Why pursue a graduate degree in Canada? • Simpler processing for most graduate degree students • Faster timeline - 2 weeks for doctoral student applications • Opportunities to work in Canada after you graduate Learn more: bit.ly/4k2hsBx

Ever since NVIDIA acquired SLURM/SchedMD, their support for non-NVIDIA chips has gotten worse, such that AMD created their own popular competitor called "spur" that is way better than SLURM in many ways. Remember, NVIDIA claimed to keep SLURM hardware neutral when they acquired SchedMD, but so far that has not happened. Will the same thing happen to @huggingface after NVIDIA acquired them? We shall see... we love Hugging Face and hope we are wrong, but NVIDIA historically has not been hardware neutral at all.

We are excited to announce that World Labs is joining @AMD. The research and technical breakthroughs we have achieved since our founding in 2024 have given us a clear vision for AI’s potential to solve problems in the spatial and physical world. Accelerating the future of spatial and physical intelligence requires scaling our efforts, scaling our reach, and getting closer to the hardware.

I came upon a good comment on a video where wildlife document filmmakers interfered/broke no contact by indirectly helping penguins cross a steep icy hill (digging a way over). The comment went something along, “why shouldn’t we interfere positively when we have negatively?”

The solution to the ever-increasing DRAM/NAND prices is to stop annual manufacturing of new smartphones. They’re almost always an incremental update, and consume around 30% of both DRAM and NAND global supply. Datacenters and servers consume around ~40% of the DRAM and the same 30% of NAND global supplies.

LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Researchers built an AI that doxes any "anonymous" reddit account in under a minutes for $2. eth zurich and anthropic published a terrifying paper proving that "practical anonymity" on the internet is officially dead. they built a fully autonomous ai pipeline that takes your pseudonymous posts, extracts your identity signals, searches the web, and figures out exactly who you are. no human investigator needed. the numbers are actually mindblowing.. - 67% of hacker news users identified correctly - when the system makes a guess, it is right 90% of the time - it even unmasked scientists whose interview transcripts were explicitly redacted for privacy the scariest part? even time doesn't protect you.. they tested users who took a full year break and changed their interests. the ai still matched their old and new profiles with 90% precision. it sees through your persona changes like they aren't even there. there is no defense against this. the agent splits the work into tiny, benign tasks like "summarizing a profile" or "ranking candidates." no api safety guardrail is going to flag it because no single step looks malicious.. every throwaway account. every "nobody will connect this to me" comment. it’s all just searchable micro-data now.
