layla law-gisiko is now claiming she just "found herself standing on the same sidewalk as vickie paladino" at a press conference. a photo from that event shows layla smiling and embracing vickie. i don't want to mince words: this is conservative entryism into dsa.

Evictions skyrocketed in every privatized public housing development due to rent increases and lack of safety nets. This comes at a time when Mamdani refuses to fully fund Right-to-Counsel, forcing more than 50% of all low-income tenants to navigate eviction without legal rep.

With you on that @SaveSection9. Layla was instrumental in securing our lawyers for the TRO, and also helped build an effective PR team. I have been in this fight since 2019, and work closely with @LaylaLawGisiko and the Save Chelsea Public Housing Coalition. And I have not met a more effective, professional ally.
I remember my first meeting with @laylaLawGisiko and raining 🔥 on her for not knowing enough about the proposed demolition of #publichousing and being weary because allies usually have an alterior motive BUT over 3 years LLG stayed. She learned. She showed up. She did.

the cosplay folks seem to😍Sec8 but "Voucher loss also leads to homelessness. In a Vera Institute study of homeless families in NYC, researchers found that one-third of families entering homeless shelters had lost a Sec8 housing subsidy during the previous 5 yrs." @SaveSection9

“Left-YIMBYism” is one of the funniest things I’ve seen people talk themselves into. Like yeah, I’m a socialist except in the case of housing where I believe in supply-side economics and deregulation. Let’s bulldoze some section 8 housing and sell it to developers

do "left YIMBYs" understand that people are taking profits from private development and using it to fund anti-socialist politics and policies?

As different @nycDSA caucuses put out final pitches for their slates, only @w2wdsa has a message centering local NYC working class residents. The rest are hyper-fixated on AOC running for president and don’t seem to give a damn about needs of NYers & needs of NYCDSA members.
🔴 BUILD COMMUNITY SAFETY THROUGH PREVENTION, NOT POLICING Abolition is class struggle. Working class people—especially Black and brown people—need community-based solutions, not criminalization and incarceration.
