Well said @libdemdaisy This is very heartening to hear that someone is tackling this at the top. The Government needs to start incentivising the protection of Green Belt (and with it, biodiversity) fast!

A scheme to save a colony of Tree Sparrows at Beddington, in Sutton borough (London), failed miserably. Promises made by the developer were not kept. Let’s not make the same mistakes twice for the same species.
Some great publicity in the @hertsad today! Read about the plight of the #treesparrows @TyttGP and the efforts being made to save them and the wider site for wildlife. More info on Facebook facebook.com/hertstreesparro… and facebook.com/groups/tyttenha… #hertsbirds @Hertsbirds

Devastated this evening to find this field by main pit @TyttGP mown with Skylarks and Reed Buntings hopping around - presumably wondering where their nests have gone 😡 Not to mention the wealth of #butterflies we were expecting! #hertsbirds
