Going through my camera roll to find art to post and found these instead. Idk my coauthor and I are pretty cute 🫶🏻
New author pic, maybe?
When you plot bunny so hard it’s now impossible to fall asleep 😂 #authorlife
I have so many amazing emails sitting in my inbox, and have had exciting conversations during the week, that I’m kind of in that place where the waiting feels like it will be so long and I just want to freeze over until it’s done 🤣
It’s funny when people say authors are “gatekeeping” yet every time I make a post on main, my comments are filled with cute people assuming I’m a newbie and they need to break things down for me.
Bless those helpful lil beans.
It’s been a rough week for writing between my husband having surgery and my eldest’s birthday, BUT I’m still at 6800 words.
I’m going to try and write another chapter while I watch the Oilers play, and then I have tomorrow as well.
This is amazing advice! Whenever I’m writing and feel like the book isn’t working, chances are this is why. GMC and what’s at stake really make up the bones and meat of your book.
I love how all around helpful and transparent both authors and agents are. Gatekeeping is for the weak.

ai is using up all the drinking water for data cooling centers. disrespectfully, fuck your “personal choice” to use it. your personal choices should not impact everybody negatively
One of the things that makes me sad about the Australian publishing industry is that it’s still so heavily trad-pubbed focused.
It’s hard to give back to the local writing community when they literally won’t let me 😂
I remember the first time as a kid that I told someone I was going to be an author when I grow up.
Their response? “That’s not a real job.”
I see a lot of misconceptions about self publishing within trad circles, and while it’s gotten a lot better in the last ten years, there’s still a divide.
So I figured I’d use this space to answer questions if anyone has them. #WritingCommunity #selfpublishing #authors
Everyone who did #QuestPit today—you’re amazing! It’s a huge thing to not only write a book, but put yourself out there. And if you didn’t get the response you were after, listen up.
I did a billion of these things back in the day, and all I heard was crickets.
Five years later and I’m an international bestselling author, living my dream.
I’ve been in the position of “what’s the point” and all I can say is:
I’ve seen this advice given out a lot lately and it’s weird AF:
No, if you want to be trad pubbed, do not indie pub first.
Even if you miraculously have a breakout bestseller, it doesn’t mean agents will be flooding your inbox, esp if you write in a niche market.
So this year I released less books than ever, and instead of it giving me more time to work on passion projects for trad pub … I just wrote longer books.
One day I’ll get my shit together 😂
I’ve commissioned so much art at this point that I’ve lost track of what I have. This one will forever be a favourite though
