It pains us to say this, but the founder of Sci-Hub has suddenly removed the $SciHub token contract from the official site and announced she no longer supports the token. What began when Alex accepted donations, listed the CA, and encouraged people to fund Sci-Hub by buying the meme token has now taken an unexpected turn.
Many investors joined that story. Most of them—including today’s core community—are now holding heavy losses, with no chance to break even. Alex has launched a brand-new token that has no connection to existing $SciHub holders, and this decision came without a single notice to the people who have been backing her and Sci-Hub all along.
$SciHub is now just an unsupported meme token. Community contributors have stopped work, and holders should be aware that the price may keep falling. Please manage your risk accordingly.
Yet the $SciHub community was built on the ideals of DeSci and Open Science. Our devs have been using blockchain to push for free knowledge sharing, and—even without official backing—they’ll keep fighting for that cause.

The SCAI Foundation has successfully acquired 80% of the tokens, which have been fully deposited into a multi-signature wallet.
According to the tokenomics, 6% is the initial amount available for the Foundation's use, with the remaining portion to be locked via a contract in the future. Of the acquired tokens, 17% will be used for a community airdrop, which will be completed within the next 24 hours.

6. Why did the $SciHub community build its own products?
As a meme coin community, we shared a goal: increasing market cap.
Basic tasks like social media, shilling, marketing, collaborations, and web maintenance were handled by community contributors.
Many contributors also took initiative to help in other ways, especially to grow token value. The community recognized and supported efforts that showed results.
In the early months, $SciHub attracted many talented people. Together, we pushed the project forward on all fronts. Compared to other meme or project tokens, $SciHub’s community was excellent.
Some developers hoped that building products could boost market attention. At the time, DeSci + AI was the hottest meme sector. Even as DeSci cooled, AI hype remained — so AI products became promotional tools.
Alex developed Sci-Hub and Sci-Net herself. The community couldn’t contribute to those, so we tried building our own tools around the DeSci + AI theme.
As DeSci faded, many contributors burned out after 3 months of intense work.
But community developers continued polishing their projects. It would’ve been a shame to quit — so they pressed on.
In the following months, most updates came from product development. These were the only new things to share.
Many contributors continued creating content and promoting $SciHub — and everyone saw their efforts.
Today, we have two well-developed community products.
Their original purpose was to draw attention to $SciHub and attract AI + DeSci investors. After $SciHub fully decoupled from Sci-Hub, these products will operate independently. If they succeed, we hope to airdrop rewards to $SciHub holders.
Final words:
Most conflicts stem from differing perspectives. The $SciHub community endured many of them — and grew stronger because of it.
Let’s move forward. $SciHub was born from DeSci, as a meme coin to support Sci-Hub.
While we will no longer support Sci-Hub or this ticker, DeSci’s future remains promising. Let’s stay curious and explore new opportunities.

社群雖然離開不少人，但剩下的依然在建設。社群開發的 search.scai.sh/ 使用人數穩定成長。
現在 #Scihub 創始人的論文互助平台已經上線，加入的人必須持有至少1000 $scihub。平台內可以請求論文或是貢獻論文，打賞的小費都是使用 $scihub 。
以上使用者大部分都是web2 人員，涵蓋各領域的知識份子，預計不久的未來可以轉化成web3，而 $scihub 會是他們進入web3一開始主要的加密貨幣。
我自己是覺得很有潛力，產品也不斷出新，#scihub 生態系也逐漸完整，現在的市值太低了。
