I’m truly honored to have been featured in this wonderful video. To commemorate the beginning of the newly established MMA promotion “KI MMA,” I created this calligraphy artwork, 「気 -KI-」. Jordan, who commissioned the piece, has long held deep respect for Antonio Inoki and was especially inspired by the way Inoki expressed himself through Japanese calligraphy. With the beginning of a new company and a new chapter for KI MMA, Jordan wanted something meaningful created in Japan — something that could remain with them for many years — and I am deeply grateful that he chose my work. The kanji 「気」 (KI) represents life force, spirit, will, and the energy that comes from within. Hearing those words described in the video as exactly what KI MMA represents was a tremendous honor for me as the artist who created the piece. I was also deeply moved by the respect shown for Antonio Inoki. As a Japanese artist, it makes me proud to see his spirit and legacy continuing to inspire people across countries and generations. I sincerely wish KI MMA great success as they begin this new journey. Thank you for this wonderful connection.
