The JCC has been designated as an Age-Friendly Community Hub by the Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging & Age-Friendly Lackawanna! As one of two designated hubs in the county, we’re proud to help older adults build meaningful connections, discover new interests & stay active!

🍂Our first “School’s Out!” program of the fall is coming up on Veterans Day, Wed Nov 11th! Looking for something fun for your kids while school is out? We’ve got you covered! Our program is open to children ages 5–12 and is a great way to spend the day with friends at the JCC!

U of Scranton students are in their fall semester, and so is our Strength & Flex one-on-one training program for older adults! We’re proud to continue our service-learning partnership with the U which has made a meaningful impact on the well-being of our older adults.

Our Youth Basketball League for students in grades 4–6, created in partnership with Wolff Learning tips off in December.

Fall creativity was in full swing last week at the JCC’s Crafty Kids program! Our young artists used colorful fall leaves and other art supplies to create amazing animal art, including porcupines and owls. We love seeing their creativity and imagination come to life!

On October 7th, we pause to remember the lives lost, honor the survivors, and stand with the families who continue to carry unimaginable grief. We hope for better days, healing and peace for all. May the memories of those murdered on Oct 7, 2023 always be a blessing.

Shiny floors, fresh look! We’ve been giving the JCC a little refresh! Our auditorium and lobby floors have been professionally cleaned, stripped and waxed, and we also replaced the tile in our lobby-level bathrooms. It’s amazing what a fresh floor can do to brighten up a space!

A reminder that the JCC will close early on Friday October 2nd at 5:00pm (pool at 4:30pm, day care at 5:30pm) and will be closed on Sunday October 4th in observance of Shemini Atzeret & Simchat Torah. We will reopen regular hours on Monday October 5th.

One of our favorite events of the year is a beautiful tradition that dates back to the 1960s! Each year, we celebrate Sukkot with the children of the JCC Early Learning Center at our Cader Family Sukkah.Thank you to Jimmy & Carole Cader for continuing this great family tradition!
