Yesterday I gave a talk on using waste heat in UK industry at the Waste Heat Recovery and Utilisation Conference.
So much of the energy we use is wasted ("rejected energy" in chart).
But the potential for using waste heat is vast. Industrial electrification can unlock this.

The fact that the only reason we didn't hit another all time high temp was because of all the wildfire smoke is some kinda cosmic statement
Looks like 31.3 will end up as the July 20 daytime high in #yegwx . No record today, but the string of consecutive 30deg days now stands at five, tied for 3rd-most all time. It remains highly likely we'll break the record of 7 days (set in 2021). We're on track for 8 or 9.
