And so in a few hours it ends. @TreatyUnitedFC last ever Men’s game after 6 rollercoaster years. I’m beyond proud of what was achieved after a couple of “what if” phone calls between myself & Tommy back then…..we pulled a seriously tremendous group of people together into one big, boisterous rock’n’roll band! Players, coaches, volunteers, Board….everyone gave it everything. Sure, the last few years have been a bit frustrating, but in football this happens. Now the club will move to the Limerick FC name, and I would encourage all fans, sponsors to get behind them. I would also encourage Tricor Capital, who have been vital in the last 3 years, to make the leap of faith that will put the club where it should be - in the Premier Division and challenging for titles and cups. Finally, my personal thanks to everyone who had any hand, act or part in the special times we have had. Gwan Treaty 🔵🔴

@TreatyUnitedFC the Men’s team is home to @CorkCityFC on this Friday. Below is the weekly email…..if you’re looking you will find mention of this game just at the top of the first photo. Other club stuff (which is important, but not AS important IMO), gets prominent photos/lots of space.
If only the club employed an outside consultant for this kind of thing🤔…..oh wait…..
Absolutely infuriating how badly run the club is. Endless time spent on unimportant tasks, and no sense of priorities at the club, a serious lack of the required skills. And to top it all off (in my opinion of course), ridiculous money spent on consultants, when the dogs in the street could tell you what is needed
Biggest challenge for @LimerickCLG for 2027 will be holding on to Caroline Currid - never seen any team need a psychologist more than @OfficialCorkGAA
So big news today from
@TreatyUnitedFC & @LimerickFCie - I believe it’s the best decision for the future of football in the city & region, but I am nervous about the involvement of Pat O Sullivan. To see him signing autographs at the end was queasy. I sincerely hope I’m wrong & that for once it’s not all about him
Had a great chat with @VanTreaty last night. I truly believe that Tricor is here for the long haul & has really positive intentions for the club, and I’m fully behind it. But - I still would worry about the lack of knowledge of local dynamics in football. This will be critical moving forward & having nobody involved with that “know how” could be the difference between success or failure. And not beating my own drum in the slightest here, just pointing this out.
Great to see “223” at @TreatyUnitedFC Women’s game today. Also great to see “1,090” at the Men’s game v Cork last Monday. Very appropriate that the Mathematicians of the World Conference takes place in Limerick this week🤔
Great 2nd half effort by @TreatyUnitedFC last night, deserved a draw at least. However, off the field as usual really low stuff in the treatment of @AherneMike95 who after years of service to the club is casually told before the game that his services are no longer required for post match interviews. Totally disrespectful behaviour, but the current MD seems to revel in this. Mike has been the voice of soccer in Limerick for a long time. The club is going nowhere fast with this kind of “leadership”. At least Mike has the radio show as a forum….
Wonder what Mangan & McGrath are thinking. 30 points down with 5 minutes to go and fella’s wilting in the heat. You’d think Cullen would put them on and let them play in a final
The team & coaches need to improve, that’s obvious . Things not going well for Tommy at the moment, but he was there at the coalface 6 years ago, getting senior soccer back up & running in Limerick. And you would expect support from the CEO, not a sly dig in the ribs - see paragraph 2. Remember this is a CEO who certainly cannot point to standards or what is acceptable in any shape or form.
Since his arrival 6 months ago there hasn’t been a single positive development at the club. Classic deflection from him & redirecting the blame to Tommy & the team. Maybe concentrate on the “strategy” you said you was imminent 2.5 months ago, and still hasn’t been seen? @TreatyUnitedFC be better
The downpour at 6pm last night was something that happens, bad luck in many ways. What isn’t bad luck & I witnessed it was that when fans turned up all they were met with was shutters & gates closed. Nobody there to explain the game was off, no sign, nothing. A woman with 4 kids standing outside in the rain, totally confused until I told her the story. Complete lack of respect (again) for supporters from @TreatyUnitedFC you need to reset your attitude in a huge way

@TreatyUnitedFC so this family of 4 paid approx €45 to attend the Longford game last night. They were corralled into a corner to eat the food they bought outside, as though they were afflicted with some disease. And other fans watched them eat as they entered. Meanwhile there is no decent hot food option available inside the ground. I hope this wasn’t their 1st impression of the club, because if it was I doubt they will return. And the club wonders why they can’t get people to come. Not what was planned 6 years ago I can promise you.
Just for clarity I completely understand the logic of keeping as much revenue as possible within the club, but 1. You must have the equivalent offering inside the ground 2. You must have a functioning method of selling that offering. Neither are in place - it takes 20 mins to get a tea due to the iPads in the shop.
The club said fan engagement was huge for them a couple of months back. Clearly this isn’t the case - in fact the opposite.
And, a fully functioning shop, which was full of banter & fast service and could easily handle 4 times the volume of customers existed just over a year ago. Logic would tell you go back to what worked?
Not travelling to Cork tonight. First opening game I’ve missed in the LOI in I can’t remember…..but it’s just not right
I find if you want to know what someone is like, you sit down with them and talk to them. Other than that you keep your uninformed opinions about someone to yourself.
Very best of luck to @TreatyUnitedFC Women’s team in the cup semi. Leave it all out there🔵⚪️
Lastly, any honest analysis of @TreatyUnitedFC needs to of course include on field performance. But it must analyse the club performance off the field more than anything else
