The majestic goliath grouper, Earth’s largest reef fish, threatened with extinction — and Florida is selling tickets to kill them. I’m posting grouper videos all week until everyone in Florida knows they can apply for a tag to save a grouper for $10 until Thursday.
Florida is currently raffling tickets to kill goliath groupers like Coral, after decades of protection. We are organizing to buy up the tags and save them. State residents can enter for $10. Non-residents can donate to cover tag fees. Please share. Instructions below.

Help us sabotage Florida’s grouper hunt by buying up the tags!!! The goliath grouper was nearly driven to extinction by fishing. A full ban in 1990 brought them back from the brink. Now their numbers are falling again — and FWC is raffling tickets to kill them.

Fishermen all over the internet, media, and even congressional hearings are spreading this myth that sharks have become “overpopulated” in the US. I charted the NOAA data to show how insane that is.

Fish are objectified beyond belief. They are treated like waste, but fish are feeling individuals.

The Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument is home to vibrant ocean life, like the endangered blue whale, and is vital to ocean ecosystems’ health. The Trump administration is opening this protected area to harmful commercial fishing, and we're in court to challenge it. on.nrdc.org/4uYYJva

NOAA Fisheries is considering new regulations that could multiply the number of sharks fishermen can kill by 3-5X, depending on species. There is still time to stop this. LEAVE A PUBLIC COMMENT at the link below. ⬇️

The oldest red snapper on record was 57. Today, 99% are killed before 15. They once weighed as heavy as 50lbs. Today, average market size is 5. The 2024 assessment estimates <30% of 1950s baselines. We are dismantling decades of recovery for scorched earth nihilistic greed.
At our request, the federal government has given the state of Florida authority over Atlantic red snapper management. With a record 39-day Atlantic red snapper season this year, Florida is empowering our anglers, protecting our waters, and strengthening our coastal economy. And this is just the beginning.

Florida is taking extreme measures to stop cities from passing shark fishing bans, announcing it will now consider them illegal, after nearly 20 years of respecting local regulations. Meanwhile blatant shark poaching videos fill the internet & FWC refuses to enforce state laws.

NOAA Fisheries is plotting to bring back commercial shark longlining in the US. The sport fishing lobby bitched so much about sharks biting fish off their hooks that they convinced the government to review the main shark protection against longlining. public comments needed ⬇️

This is the work of a fisherman, no question. Fishermen across the US Southeast are constantly and often illegally killing sharks, groupers, and even dolphins because they hate them for eating fish.
A D*ad dolphin with multiple bullet holes was found in Louisiana. The Feds are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction

New study: most climate models underestimate the decline of the Atlantic overturning circulation #AMOC. The AMOC is on course to slow by more than 50% by the end of the century. Very likely the AMOC will then be past the tipping point for full shutdown. 😨 us.cnn.com/2026/04/16/climat…

People simply do not realize how incredibly corrupt the US Fishery Council system is. Regulators that cast these votes openly own longline vessels and tuna canneries — and this is allowed! They have sought to seize these monuments long before Trump. The rot goes much deeper.
The official vote is in from W Pacific Fishery Council. Every single Pacific National Monument will be opened to commercial fishing. Longlines in Papahānaumokuākea. All fishing gear in Rose Atoll. The entire Marianas Trench reserve gone. ~80% of US protected waters abolished.
