I’m an oncologist and I love my job. But I’m striking because I know first-hand that the NHS is failing our patients with cancer and I’m striking because I know first-hand that the NHS is failing its workforce. lucygossage.com/my-reasons-f… #ConsultantsStrike

2 out of every 3 frontline NHS staff don’t have access to a staff room. We think it’s completely unacceptable for staff to work such long shifts, on their feet, without appropriate rest facilities. Please RT if you agree.

There are so many issues with this article which seems to have been framed to fit the government agenda. Disappointing because we were explicit about a number of things. bbc.co.uk/news/health-649073…

#Qantas #IATA #airlines #flight-delay. Don’t fly with this airline. Their customer services are dishonest. delayed in Singapore for a day, had to find my own hotel and was promised compensation. After 2 months, 2 forms being declined, numerous emails, DM, still £600 out of pocket

#Qantas #IATA #airlines #flight-delay. Qantas is breaking rules of Warsaw and Montreal convention. Was delayed for a day in Singapore. Had to find own hotel and was promised compensation. Filled in two forms both declined. Still no money after 2 months. I despair.

1/ Pleasing to wake up this morning to news that - FINALLY - were hearing about the NHS in the leadership contest for our next PM. Similarly pleasing to see the word crisis. As for the NHS, crisis is very much where we are. Some tips @RishiSunak Pls RT bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-6…

14/ Its great @RishiSunak wants to make waiting lists his "number one public service priority" and I hope @trussliz does too. Please listen to experts @TheBMA @bma_pensions to understand the root cause of problems. p.s its not lack of targets. Pls share/RT if you agree

Definition of an impossible situation - The NHS has been told to make 5% savings this year. - The NHS has been told to reduce the back log caused by Covid - The NHS has over 100,000 vacancies, likely to rise Now the NHS has been told to find an £1.8 billion for this pay "award"

Some quirks of NHS pension & taxation make you despair for GPs 39yr old GP, earns £85k practitioner & £6k officer Officer role triggers £35k AA spike (post McCloud) in 2022/23🤯for no extra benefit at 60* (*for🤓, future FVEC accrual likely overtakes separate officer benefit)

Another increase in the total number of patients waiting for planned operations in England - 6.6 million, another record high, in May. Fewer waiting more than 2 years but the number waiting more than one year increased to 332,000 - the highest for 12 months.
