Today I visited @211SD to learn more about how its team connects residents with essential services. From providing critical information during emergencies to helping families access food assistance and connecting eligible residents with health care resources, 211 helps people navigate complex systems and find the support they need.
I’m grateful to their team for serving our community with compassion and care. Their work helps ensure residents have somewhere to turn to when they need it most.
With gusty winds expected today, please be mindful of the latest fire updates. ocregister.com/2026/10/17/no…

Congratulations to Carlsbad’s very own @TeresaAcosta on becoming President of @CalCities !
Teresa is a bridge builder who understands that solving problems starts with bringing people together, listening to different perspectives, and finding common ground.
I look forward to working with her to deliver meaningful results for our communities.
It's #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth, when we aim to raise awareness about this pervasive problem in our society, work to prevent it and direct victims to the resources and support they need. More than 12 million women and men each year in the U.S. are victims of violence from an intimate partner. If you need help, contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline, 1-800-799-7233, or visit thehotline.org/

I was excited to present @MissionViejoCA with an $850,000 check on Tuesday night to use for wildfire mitigation efforts! This will help pay for removing dead and dying trees and other potential fuel for wildfires from land adjacent to residential and commercial areas. I am so happy I could secure this funding through the state budget and help the city reduce its wildfire risk.
