Lula victory speech: "We had to overcome foreign interference through digital platforms, which we will have to regulate. We cannot have monstrously huge corporations earning millions & billions, paying no taxes to this country & trying to steer this country's election results."

Congratulations to Lula and the Brazilian left for their victory over the far right in the second round of Brazil's presidential election. For the working-class, for Indigenous peoples, for climate justice and for the Amazon. ✊

With great joy, I congratulate my dear brother President Lula @LulaOficial on his historic fourth presidential election victory and the renewed trust of the Brazilian people. We share a simple but profound conviction. Politics must improve people’s lives, uphold their dignity and bring hope to those too often left behind. That commitment to social justice remains at the heart of our work. I look forward to strengthening the friendship between Barbados and Brazil as we continue building a fairer, more inclusive and peaceful world. May God continue to guide and strengthen you, dear brother. There is much work ahead, and much good still to be done!

Lula Da Silva: "The world spends $2.7 trillion a year on weapons while people starve." "With every war Israel starts, somehow the last shot always has to land in Lebanon." "They talk about Cuba being socialist, while Haiti starves next door -- and nobody says a word."

This is Novi Sad, the site of the horrific awning collapse that killed 16 people, sparking the massive student-led protests that led to Vučić's demise two years later. Seeing the entire place bounce like this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime thing.
