I still remember the day I almost got initiated into a cult.
I was coming back from school one afternoon when some guys stopped me. They were friendly, and one of them claimed he knew someone from my school. Somehow, they convinced me to follow them.
Omo, I didn’t know I was entering trouble.
They took me through a bush path until we got deep inside a forest. When I asked where we were going, one of them told me to shut up and keep walking.
That was when fear caught me.
I saw some other guys waiting under a tree, and from their conversation, I realized these people were cultists. They wanted to initiate me into their group.
I tried to turn back, but they blocked me. One of them said I wasn’t leaving until the initiation was over.
I swear, at that moment, I thought my life was finished. I started thinking about my family and wondering if I would ever see them again.
