If we want to continue progress in science, we must be prepared to acknowledge that the correct description of nature will eventually simply be too complicated for humans to understand. I do not think it is wise to make human understanding a requirement. AI is the way forward.

We are about to reach Level 4 in OpenAI stages of AI, or a pre-version has already been reached in some limited fields. We will achieve Level 5 (superintelligence) within a year or so. Level 2 was achieved 2 years ago, Level 3 earlier this year and now fully matured.
