Completed: The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time remake. I have a lot to say, but I'll keep it brief; Despite this being made by a younger team, they somehow managed to not only replicate the sense of wonder and adventure from the 98' original, but surpass it in every way. This has all the bells and whistles of tech today, but the heart and soul of a bygone era of gaming. While it is very simple by modern standards, its true strength comes from the fundamental goal of a videogame; To be fun. This was quite simply the most impressive effort I've seen from Nintendo. The idea of taking one of the most beloved games of all time and doing it justice must have been Herculean. But those madmen somehow pulled it off and then some. It was so good, I had to keep playing every moment I could find. I miss this style of Zelda so much, I hope those who never experienced it give this a whirl. 100/100

First, stop calling them police stations, it implies some sort of legitimacy. They’re a hostile forward operating base. Second, kick the doors down, handcuff and black bag everyone in there and put them in a detention centre and arrange deportation. Third, summon the Chinese ambassador and advise him that if his country tries that shit again he can pack his bags and a major review of Chinese owned companies will be conducted with extreme prejudice.

In December 2017, a 20 year old from Beaumont, Alberta named Ryan Shtuka moved to Sun Peaks, British Columbia with his best friend. The plan was simple. Work the ski season. Snowboard every chance he got. Ryan got a job running a chairlift at the resort. He lived in a house with a group of roommates. Sun Peaks is a tiny mountain town. About 600 people. On the night of February 16, 2018, Ryan got off his shift and went out with his roommates to a silent disco at a local bar. One of the pictures from that night is the last known photo of Ryan. Afterward, the group went to a house party on Burfield Drive. Around 2:10 a.m., his friends started the walk home. They saw Ryan standing up, putting on his coat and his shoes. They figured he was right behind them. It was only a short walk. A snowstorm was rolling in. That night, the temperature dropped to around minus 26 Celsius. About 15 below Fahrenheit. More than half a foot of snow was coming down. Ryan never made it home. He didn't show up for work that day. His phone went silent. His social media went silent. They've stayed that way ever since. His roommate texted his parents, and they reported him missing. The whole town came out. Volunteers. Search and rescue. Search dogs. Workers brought in excavators to dig through the giant snowbanks along the roads, in case he'd fallen into one. Nothing. Here's what made it so strange. The search and rescue manager said that even with all that fresh snow, if Ryan had wandered off the road into deep snow, his tracks would have still been obvious. There were no tracks. Police said there was no evidence he ever left Sun Peaks. They've never ruled out foul play, but they've never found anything suspicious either. His family believes Ryan most likely got lost in the storm and that he's still somewhere on that mountain. His mother has said Ryan wasn't the type to get into fights or start anything with anyone. But in eight years, despite all the searching, no one has found a single trace of him. Not his body. Not his coat. Not his shoes. Last fall, volunteers brought search dogs back to Sun Peaks again. They found nothing. His mom has said that what they know today is exactly what they knew on February 17, 2018. He was a few minutes from home, in a town of 600 people, and he left no footprints. Where did Ryan go?

You've just ordered Pizza Hut and a 2L Mountain Dew. You've loaded up Ocarina of Time. No school tomorrow. Your parents don't care if you stay up all night long. A perfect fall night. You are 36 years old. The year is 2026.

Connor McDavid has 44 points in 17 games. Matt Coronato led Calgary with 45 points in 80 games last season.

So Connor McDavid needs six points in his next game to tie Wayne Gretzky for the fastest to 50 points in a season (18 games). Unlikely. BUT The Oilers' next game is at home to the CANUCKS

90 billion for OAS... Wake up young people. Thee 60 billion is debt financing should also piss you off. Retirees' previous governments kept taxes too low (or spending too high) so they lived easy. Now you pay. Young people need to vote for their own interests en mass

God, this is awful. Why do the courts do this?
“If I go missing or disappear, it was not of my own free will. If I turn up dead, it was not by my own hand.” A Canadian woman has posted a terrifying public warning about a man she identifies as James Scott Stewart. She alleges that in January 2026, while she was 40 weeks pregnant, Stewart brutally beat her, strangled her nearly to death, and forced castor oil down her throat. She says she survived because the RCMP intervened. Now, according to her account, a judge has decided Stewart will be safer on probation than behind bars. She says he will be free again in six weeks. She also claims this is the eighth time the justice system has failed to protect her and her children. And perhaps the most disturbing part of her message is that she is publicly identifying the person she fears will kill her. This woman is telling the world she is afraid she won’t be alive in six weeks. Her allegations and the court’s decision deserve immediate scrutiny. I share about missing women all of the time. When do we start preventing this before it actually happens? This woman is begging for help. She knows he is coming for her.

Boo hoo. Stop them on the ice if you don't like it. Don't go crying in the media.
Kiefer Sherwood called out the LA Kings for their “disrespectful” antics while running up the score against the Sharks last night 😳 (h/t @Sheng_Peng)

it's wild to hear the same people say: - sports aren't important - there aren't that many trans girls so the impact is small - but trans girls will kill themselves if they can't play on the girls team like, it just isn't a coherent set of beliefs

We need a complete review of the police budget. It strikes me we are funding too many niche policing initiatives rather than forcissing on basics. Eg — If @edmontonpolice have people who can police tweets, they should get them off X and onto the streets.
News: Edmonton police are presenting their 2027-30 budget. Big ask is for an extra $61.66m to replace aging IT and other infrastructure. Most of the overall budget is funded by the city through a funding formula.

More importantly, why is there a pen named after the entire NDP Party?
When did a 5 pack of pretty normal pens start costing $15?? I used to get 12 of these in a box for something by like $7
