I am not a huge fan of most American drama. But The Diplomat - all four seasons, the fourth being new - are outstanding. I never took Keri Russell seriously until The Diplomat. I never knew anything about the outstanding Rufus Sewell and the glorious Ali Ahn. And there's Alison Janney, Nana Mensah, Ato Essandoh, David Gyasi and more. The entire cast is amazing. #AgainstTheCurrent So adorable! All the supporting cast sang a line of the main OST in a version edited by the emperor. This drama broke so many records, and I'm certain it will boost everyone's career. I love that even the side stories and supporting characters had their own compelling arcs and a true sense of destiny. It's rare for a production to weave in subplots so seamlessly without feeling like filler, but this kept me fully engaged throughout!

Whether he is fighting like a madman consumed by fury or weeping in deep grief, #LiuXueYi is such a nuanced and remarkable actor. It has always pained me that it took so long for him to secure lead roles, and even among the ones where he plays the male lead, I find myself struggling to recommend them wholeheartedly. 😅
In Blossom was probably my favorite before this, and I actually quite enjoyed In The Night; seeing him in modern attire was refreshing, even if his sharp facial structure and regal aura suit historical dramas best. I still have A Moment But Forever bookmarked, but xianxia/wuxia is my least favorite genre; if you’ve watched it, let me know if it’s worth checking out!
I really hope his next two dramas turn out well, and I believe he’s either starting a new project soon or is already filming. The one with Yang Mi called Northern Wei Dynasty looks promising, though given its historical setting, his character seems destined to die too. Cries.
By the way for the action scenes, I remember he said there was not much "choreography" - so he really went all in and fought for real.

PLEASE I am so tired of Poong acting as if he knows everything. Interrupting. Constantly yammering. He is so tiresome that I have a hard time watching CAMF. I fast forward whenever he is cooking. And he ruins it for me watching other chefs. If he has to be on, please let the other chefs speak. They have lots of fans too. #chefandmyfridge
