After an unexpected ending to my holiday in the New Forest, I found myself at the RBH A&E with a perforated appendix.
We arrived not be ambulance however we're triaged quickly and taken through to Majors despite there being a predicted wait time.
The nursing teams over the couple of days I was there were incredible. Everyone and I mean everyone had a smile on there faces, they were short staffed and explained the situation and how they would prioritise work

An important blog for everyone working within MH to read. As nurses we are in a privileged position of writing notes about individuals whom we see at times of illness, despair and distress. This is a stark lesson to understand how what we write can be a cause of further distress
Reading my MH clinical notes was a really traumatic experience. Not only did I discover I had been misrepresented, misunderstood & slandered, but I also discovered *I* was not the patient being assessed and treated.. I had been erased by my "paper-self".

A year has gone since my mother in law passed away suddenly. Today we filled the day doing activities that gave her joy and filled our lives with some special memories, ending with her favorite meal in our garden. Thank you for being you β€ We miss you dearly x
