Everything else is empty calories.

the world doesn't owe u anything for having good intentions. u can be kind, honest, and morally right and still lose. build skills. develop judgment. learn to read people and situations. become capable enough that u don't have to depend on everyone liking u to get where u want to go.

Your job, your employer, and your coworkers don’t give a fuck about you. To them, you’re nothing more than a replaceable employee. So, stop destroying your personal and family life for these deadass jobs. Be selfish, be unapologetic, and treat your job like a job nothing more.

Marriage to a highly compatible partner is one of the strongest predictors of life satisfaction in adulthood. Stronger than career advancement. Stronger than higher income beyond a baseline. The infrastructure for getting that match right barely exists.

Mumbai Pollution: This is not a crisis. This is an emergency situation. In the garb of “infrastructure development” - we have let things go out of control.

Cherish Good People. Celebrate them. They are not good in advertising themselves and no PR would endorse them.
They are rare and that goodness needs to be acknowledged and propagated forward. So if you come across someone , do acknowledge them. Its not for them, its for us.

When the smog clears, you will see me, all covered in dust, trying to mask my embarrassment as i think how did we get like this? Shameless, hopeless, expecting nothing but unaccountability from politicians.

Intelligence and being well read are two different matters. To have a wide range of interest, one must be well read, curiuos and inquisitive. To hold interesting conversation is a skill that needs to be acquired.

What I Actually Look for on a Food Label as a Dietitian
The front of a packet may say “high protein,” “multigrain” or “sugar-free.” But how do you know what you're actually buying?
When I read a food label, I look beyond the marketing claims.
Here are the things I check:
1. Serving size: The calories and nutrients listed may be for just one serving, not the entire packet.
2. Protein and fibre: Do they provide a meaningful amount for the serving size?
3. Sugar: I check total sugar, added sugar and the ingredients used to sweeten the product. Honey and jaggery count too.
4. Ingredient list: Ingredients are generally listed by weight. The first few tell you a lot about what makes up the product.
5. Saturated fat and sodium: Both matter, particularly when managing cardiovascular risk and blood pressure.
6. Additives: Their presence alone doesn't make a food unhealthy. The overall nutritional profile matters more.
7. Front-of-pack claims: “Natural,” “multigrain” and “sugar-free” don't automatically mean healthier.
8. The bigger picture: Portion size, frequency of consumption, nutritional quality and your individual health needs all matter.
As a dietitian, I'm not looking for a perfect product. I'm looking for information that helps me make an informed choice.
Next time you shop, turn the packet around. The ingredient list and nutrition panel deserve as much attention as the claims on the front.
