🇿🇦 I am a South African. And I think we’re kinda fucking great. Sorry, but this is factual. I live in an underrated country. Here’s a thread of why I feel this way. Spoiler: you’re gonna hate some of these. 🇿🇦

Tis my last day of horror movie watching 🥺🥺🥺🥺 Nah I’m just fucking with you. I’m totally carrying on with this shit. Horror movies are the best. I’m gonna make a new list. Happy Halloween, you filthy animals ❤️

Day 30: V/H/S/ Halloween (2025). It’s an anthology. Some good bits. Some bad. But I have never been less interested in the survival of characters 😂 I dunno, maybe because I’m coming off some compelling storylines? I want to watch something else. Suggestions welcomed!
Day 29: The First Omen (2024). This was way better than I thought it was going to be. Like there was actual story value. Not just some prequel nonsense. The cast is fucking great and the kills (and other stuff) are brutal. I loved nun of it. (See what I did there?)

Forever my King Richard 💔💔💔💔 like the fact that this talented, serious man was like, “yes please, I’ll cameo for Mel Brooks”. That speaks volumes of his character. What a human. What a legend.

Question: do you guys actually like me doing movie review things? Because I kinda want to keep it up 🤷‍♀️

Bonus watch! Day 28 pt 2: What Lies Beneath (2000). The previous film made me think of this. Harrison Ford was a DICK 😂😂 I love it ❤️❤️❤️ tell me you didn’t want that necklace as a teen? 2000s horror had its moments.

Day 28: The Night House (2020). Ok firstly, the house in question is EXQUISITE (you know, minus the ghosts and death and shit). Never heard of this one. Went in blind. This was an awesome new watch. Creepy. Psychological. Nice house. I’d marry this movie’s tinder profile.

I would like to take a moment to talk about the craft involved in this piece of framing. Sensational work. The Night House has probably been my fave new find on my October list. And yes. It moves.

Day 27: The Babadook (2014). This was a great film. Truly great. But goddamn that kid made me want to pull chunks of my hair out. I’m not proud admitting this. Gonna show it to Raph and tell him this is what happens when you behave like an asshole 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Also, I forgot to mention. The use of silhouetting in this film is amazing. Some amazing shots 🥰❤️

Hear me out. I always get the initial scare of a spider. But then we’re cool. And now kiddo and I are very attached to this spider, which we have named “Big One”. But I think it’s fucking cute how they curl up to sleep. They sleep like people, with one foot out of the blanket 🥹

Ah fuck. There’s gonna be a Petzer video about this tomorrow, isn’t there? ❤️🇿🇦❤️
HE DID IT! 🇿🇦 Thomas van Tonder is a world record holder. 🏆 He conquered 600 monkey bars beneath the iconic Bloukrans Bridge, putting South Africa’s world-class adventure destination in the global spotlight. SO @RedBullZA who made it happen. #VisitSouthAfrica #RedBullBars

I’m still part of so many work chats with teams I haven’t worked with for months or years, just so I can randomly pop up and do shit like this that has nothing to do with me. I find it very fulfilling.

Day 26 Take 2: Terrifier 3 (2024). I mean. This is the campy shit I was hoping for. Silly, effective, nightmare-inducing nonsense. Damien Leone just doing his thing and sometimes you just need it this simple and cheesy 😂😂😂

Day 26: I Saw The TV Glow (2024). So I’m not sure if I was in the right headspace for this. It just didn’t hit. There’s plenty good about it but it kinda just made me depro. Fuck it, I’m gonna watch Terrifier 3 again 😂😂😂😂 thank god today gave me options.

Bonus content!!! Day 25: The Cycle (2026). This wasn’t on my list but someone mentioned it. I fucking love a murder mystery. Deborah Ann Wolf is great in this. It’s giving police procedural that happens to be horror. What a fucking unexpected win.

Professionalism is important. But sometimes you need to swear in the email to land the joke. And HR hasn’t gotten to me yet 🤷‍♀️ Have fun in your workplace. Why bother otherwise?

Day 25: Malignant (2021). Actually my first time seeing this. James Wan always delivers but I feel like they gave away the twist in the opening credits 🧐 I am 💯 gonna use the phrase “Gabriel, you’ve been a bad bad boy” at work this week, though. It’s campy horror fun ❤️

Day 24: House of Wax (2005). Talk about a classic guilty pleasure. It’s so bad. I fucking love it 😂😂😂. Like it’s genuinely not good. In the best way possible. ❤️❤️ Omg it’s so stupid 😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️
