This week, @SheriffMina presented Mr. Dave Harris with a special Sheriff and Boy statue in recognition of his extraordinary generosity and continued support for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches (@flsheriffsyr) and their President Maria Knapp. Mr. Harris began supporting the Youth Ranches in 2019 and has consistently made significant contributions, with his smallest gift totaling $5,000. His generosity has helped fund several meaningful projects, including: The Youth Camp High Ropes Course, dedicated in honor of President Emeritus Bill Frye, Sheds for the Goat Farm, and covering for the Boys Ranch Dance Pavilion. The Sheriff and Boy statue is presented to donors who reach $100,000 in cumulative giving, recognizing their extraordinary commitment to helping Florida’s youth. Mr. Harris has also continued his generosity in loving memory of his late wife, Cheri, who passed away last year. We are deeply grateful to Mr. Harris for his compassion, generosity, and lasting commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people. His support helps create opportunities, build brighter futures, and strengthen the mission of the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches. 💙

Amendment 3 guts the largest funding source for public safety in Florida. Fewer deputies, longer waits for an ambulance, slower 911. Amendment 3 is too good to be true.

Please join the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and @SheriffMina in congratulating our Tactical Anti-Crime Units of East Orange County on receiving high recognition for their excellent work in Operation Burn Notice | Smoke Break Productions investigation. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive (@ATFHQ) presented this distinguished honor to our team in recognition of their contributions to a yearlong investigation that dismantled a criminal organization selling dangerous firearms and narcotics out of a smoke shop in East Orlando. The investigation resulted in five individuals being arrested, federally charged, and convicted, along with the seizure of numerous narcotics and 15 firearms. Our Tactical Anti-Crime Units played an integral role in this investigation, and the value of their contributions cannot be overstated. A simple traffic stop led to a felony arrest. Excellent work by our deputies in getting drugs and an AR-15-style rifle out of the hands of a convicted felon. On September 30, at approximately 11:30 p.m., deputies observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. After deputies made contact with the occupants, the driver exited the vehicle and the passenger moved into the driver’s seat. He then attempted to flee the scene. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a black-and-tan AR-15-style rifle and felony amounts of narcotics.

Amendment 3 slashes funding for deputies, firefighters, and 911 operators. That means fewer deputies, slower response times, and more crime. Amendment 3 sounded to good to be true. Voters can have tax relief and protected public safety, but only if lawmakers do the work to design it responsibly rather than locking an unfunded cut into the state constitution.
