Special Deck Construction Rules newly implemented in DZ-BT17
The following rules apply to the cards listed below:
- Great Magick Caster of the Crimson Moon, Zerith "Mirazh"
- Peerless Magick Caster, Zerith

2. For fighters that include all of the above cards in their ride deck, all of their grade 3 cards with <Fantôme> race that have "Fantôme" in their card names, including those whose nation is Stoicheia, lose all of their original text and icons. (They also lose their skill icons (like Twin Drive) and Persona Ride icons)
3. Fighters that have NOT included all of the above cards in their ride deck CANNOT include "Mirazh Gran Magick, Reindalt Galvaton" in their main deck
The following rules apply to the cards listed below:
- Torrent of Great Sin, Seza
- Hidden Intention, Seza
- Strike of Determination, Seza
- Great Sin Rulebreaker, Seza
1. Fighters that include all of the above cards in their ride deck can include cards with the [Prisoner] ability from nations other than Dark States in their main deck
Update to the Comp Rules in JP - ver. 4.64 (DZ-BT17 edition)
*Okay now we get to the fun stuff
---
Major updates:
Prisoner and Sinastery definitions added. Trust me this is major enough.
> 14.65. Prisoner/Sinastery
> 14.65.1. "Prisoner" is a continuous ability.
> 14.65.1.1. "Prisoner" itself has no effect, but may be referenced by rules or other cards.
> 14.65.1.2. For a card to be a "Prisoner" means that the card has the keyword ability "Prisoner"
> 14.65.1.3. "Prisoner" may be indicated in text with the [Prisoner] icon
> 14.65.2. "Sinastery" is a keyword that applies to certain abilities belonging to cards with the "Prisoner" keyword.
> 14.65.2.1. If an effect instructs you to "use a Sinastery", play and resolve the Sinastery specified by that effect.
> 14.65.2.1.1. When referring to the source of this played ability or any effects it triggers, refer to the source of the "use a Sinastery" effect.
> 14.65.2.2. If an effect of a Sinastery causes a unit to attack another unit that shares the same master, regard the attacking unit as if it were dominated (7.39) by the master of that effect for the purposes of the attack.
Deckbuilding rules have been changed for Crimson Moon. This is built into the Comprehensive Rules similar to Regalis Piece and Sentinels.
> 8.1.9. The main deck and ride deck must contain a total of 4 or less cards with the subtype "Crimson Moon" between them.
6.7.5 is modified to account for cards that have abilities active on (RC). {Looking at you Artolay}
> 6.7.5. Abilities possessed by a card that is an originalDress are inactive so long as that card is an originalDress, unless that ability explicitly says it works while an originalDress.
Legion/D-Legion section is modified to clarify grade differences.
> 6.4.5. When determining whether the grade of a player's vanguard meets a certain condition while the unit on that player's vanguard circle is in the legion state/D-legion state, the condition is regarded as being met if the grade of at least one of that player's Legion Leader or Legion Mate meets that condition.
> Example: If your vanguard is in the legion state, a condition of "if your vanguard's grade is less than your opponent's vanguard's grade" is fulfilled if at least one of your Legion Leader or Legion Mate is lower than your opponent's vanguard's.
> 6.4.6. When the grade of a player's vanguard in the legion state/D-legion state is referenced, determine whether to refer to the Legion Leader or Legion Mate, and then the grade is referenced
> Example: If your vanguard is in the legion state, an ability that reads "look at the top 5 cards of your deck, choose a card with grade less than or equal to your vanguard, and call it to (RC)." requires you to decide whether to use the Legion Leader or the Legion Mate's grade when choosing the card, and then you may choose a card with grade less than or equal to that unit's grade.
> 6.4.7. When an ability that states "For each X do Y" references the grade of a player's vanguard in the legion state/D-legion state, the sum of the grades of that player's Legion Leader and Legion Mate is used.
> Example: If your vanguard is in the legion state, a condition that reads "this unit gets [Power]+5000 for each grade of your vanguard" will add [Power]+5000 for each of the combined grade of your Legion Leader and Legion Mate.
Removed certain rules to clarify that, while a card that has been put into the order zone remains there, any abilities that are active while that card is in the order zone remain active.
> 17.11.3 has been removed, the one that was extremely contentious prior.

My first encounter with this card was when playing eva. My 4 attacks with a crit suddenly became 3, it was annoying until I read the card again, and connected the dots that I could call from hand with eva's skill to still get my 4th and proc the on place crit. I won and felt really satisfied, which I wouldnt have gotten if these cards didnt exist. In eva's case its really deck specific but these games allowed me to think of another way to pull off my game plan instead of just doing the same thing over and over which i think is good.

convinced any nonce who advocates for restricting this 0 shield hard to slot situational grade 3 has never had to work to get what they want. learn the matchup, tech against unprecedented scenarios, and come out on top; show ur grit and plan for the out.
Seeing so many Tazer Lage discourse on my timeline. The way i see it, Prison hasn't done well consistently for couple months, maybe some top 8. But then, they got top 2 when Prison players realize that Tazer Lage is very helpful against the meta, which they don't play it before.
But isn't that normal that people tech correctly into the environment and got rewarded for it? Similar to One Piece where bad matchup is a thing and people tech cards to help them boost their winrate.
For me it doesn't make sense when people wants it to be banned just because it prevents your deck do what you want it to do.
Now, let's assume Prison will gain more popularity because of this. I think it's important on how you respond, deckbuilding wise maybe adding cards that can retire on MP if you play DE, or changing your playstyle if you're playing Stoich if you don't have retire, etc. It will stop Estacion or Rezael to do 5 attacks, but you can always go RG RG swing to it before calling right? Prison handsize is not big so you're forcing them to commit resource in hand to defend it or let it go.
And if for some reason, your deck completely got shut off by it and no way to play around or build around it due to limited card pool. Then the question should be,
"Should I bring this deck when Tazer is popular knowing that my deck will lose to Prison?"
I understand that some people wants to play their pet deck and do well, and it's not a wrong thing because I want to do so as well. And due to the level of variance in VG, any deck has a chance to win. It comes back to what do you want to achieve. If your deck cannot keep up with the meta and need extra extra luck to win, you gotta be realistic when you're fighting a losing battle and lose. And if you just wanna have fun, feel free to play any deck you want.
The key point is instead of wanting a card to be banned because it counters your deck, there are some way to play around it, or worse case, choose a deck that has the highest chance to win in the current meta if YOU WANT TO WIN.
There is a reason why as much as I love Varga i never bring it to regionals because I always want to win, but if i go 2nd in an aggresive meta full of Aichi, I know I am gonna get rolled 100%.
