I'm tired. The past year of constant negativity from Roblox and everything surrounding it has taken a huge toll on me mentally.
It feels like every other week Roblox is shooting themselves in the foot and getting further and further away from the game I fell in love with 10 years ago.
Roblox is basically my job, and it’s the box I’ve put myself in content wise, but I’ve started having conversations with my team about what the future looks like.
I’m seriously considering making a big push into GTA 6 content when it drops, and potentially using it as an off-ramp into more mature content.

Roblox has begun sending cease and desist letters to some of the largest condo creators in an effort to deter bad actors and open the door to further legal action.
By identifying the real-life identities of these individuals, Roblox is prepared to pursue further legal action should they continue to violate our terms.
In addition to moderating against the content creators, Roblox is taking moderation action against players who repeatedly join experiences that violate the Community Standards.

Roblox prioritizing shareholders over creators is not surprising at all; they are a public company, and that's their duty.
If you want to understand the direction the company is heading, don’t look at the marketing aimed at creators. Read how they talk to investors vs how they talk to developers and artists.
In investor communications, the focus is on scalability, efficiency, margins, and AI-driven growth. In creator-facing messaging, the word “AI” is often avoided entirely, replaced with vague buzzwords like “real-time dreaming” or “4D.” That disconnect is calculated.
The strategy is clear, though: leverage developer and artist content to train their own AI labs and reduce dependence on human-created UGC over time. Whether that future arrives in 2 years or 10, the direction is obvious. At the end of the day, platforms under investor pressure look for ways to scale content creation without scaling payouts.
It’s visible in earnings calls, investor decks, hiring patterns, and the language used, depending on the audience. Creators should pay attention because the story told to shareholders contrasts with the one told to them.
What do I know? I've been on both sides: as a successful UGC creator and now as a UGC game/platform. I met with many of the big companies you can think of and was part of many discussions on monetization and business strategy for those businesses. I know this space from the core; I started from absolutely nothing and worked through every aspect of the business.
But hey, that's just my personal opinion ;)

In our research lab, we are building “real-time dreaming” - the ability to generate fully playable video worlds prompted from any text or image.
Our real-time, action conditioned world model (currently running internally at 16fps at 832x480p) is trained on a combination of data, including proprietary Roblox 3D avatar/world interaction data.
World models are different from multiplayer engines in that they store state and memory in video latents. Roblox is multiplayer, and we are actively researching optimal ways to simultaneously store state for thousands of players, and keep them in sync with their environment.
Our world model leverages database technology which stores all user interactions on Roblox in a vector format that can be used to re-render video and interaction from any camera angle.
We see several immediate uses for our Roblox world model. We will use it side-by-side text, image and video prompts as a way to launch auto-generation of immersive worlds.
In Roblox Studio, a creator could walk around and use prompts to “paint” a world and then convert it into a 3D representation or direct to Roblox native as a way for many people to play simultaneously.
All of this comes alive as we explore the notion of a “Dream Theater” - where one user is dreaming, while others watch and prompt them. 2/4

I'm gonna say it... @Roblox, you should seriously revert UGC back to an approval process... the amount of people stealing other creators' content and uploading themselves is ridiculous.. it wouldn't 100% fix the issue, but it would be much better to just have trusted UGC creators

its been months and i feel like im have to adress this publicly.
Since Emotes went public there has been a surge in Thiefs and Reuploaded Assets. Its been a problem for UGC for a while, but especially Emotes are the ones being stolen in MASSES. With only a couple click you can download Animations and import them into Studio. It also just takes some more click to publish them using Alt Accounts. These Groups are made by mostly Alt Accounts to protect their main Account from being Terminated.
Youd probably think you can remove the stolen Reuploads easily with their "Game Changing" Removal Requests Tool in the IP Tab on the Creator Dashboard. If you thought its easy, well its not! 99% of Removal Requests get rejected because of "not containing enough originality".
I just want to remind ANYONE that even if its simple Poses or Trendy Dances on Tiktok you cant just steal someones work. It doesnt matter if choreography is copyrighted or not. If you are stealing someones ANIMATION and REUPLOAD it you are a Thief and break Roblox TOS. Your work is automatically protected by COPYRIGHT. For original Choreographies and Tiktok dances the Creators of that Dance have the right to take down any fanmade uploads of their fanmade animations. This doesnt mean a fanmade animation is allowed to be stolen (sloley for clarification since many alr told me they are allowed to steal my Emotes...)
Many of us UGC Creators were victims of stolen Reuploaded Emotes by Groups that make this their living.
Let me just bring an example of the BEST SELLING UGC EMOTE CREATOR ON ROBLOX!!!!
Wow what an achievement selling allegedly 1.6M Emotes within 2 Months. The Best selling EMOTE UGC CREATOR is a THIEF and a ASSET REUPLOADER. The groups name is "vr'" which is owned by cirtually. A "UGC Creator" that has been sending out false counterclaims on Takedown Request with false info. Also having the audacity to write "all copies will be DMCA" on each emotes like its not a fucking stolen reupload.
What did Roblox do about it? Nothing.
How long did Roblox have time to do something about it? 2 Months.
When did they know? August.
I have talked to people working at Roblox. They promised me a action against specific reuploaders ASAP. Its been 3 weeks already and the Best selling Thief has already earned roughly 20Million Robux!
Yes about 80k USD and still no consequences.
Me and other Creators worked hard on getting this resolved with Roblox back when Public Emotes rolled out and the first Emotes were stolen. To this day we have no idea why its even taking so long to atleast take action on the biggest Thiefs.
Isnt it weird someone is counterclaiming every alleged "fake" Takedown Request. Yes you can get verified by being a Thief. Just put UGC CREATOR in your BIO and People will think your work and art is your passion in life. In fact its just a whole lot of bullshit and stealing. I just want yall to know how bad it is if he really made the alleged 20M Robux.
Thats 20M Robux STOLEN from ORIGINAL CREATORS 80 THOUSAND DOLLARSSSS
many of the copies selling better than the originals.

Rejected Removal Requests.
ID Verification is BULLSHIT since its not bound to your legal when it comes to receiving DMCA.
We are left alone with Roblox giving Thiefs a platform and boosting them on their shit ass algorithm. Top Trending. Best Selling.
as if you want people to steal to maximize profit...
HELLO???? IS CAN SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS??? ESPECIALLY THIS FUCK ASS. GET HIS DAMN ID NAME AND I WANT A LAWSUIT IDGAF ITS 80 FUCKING THOUSAND DOLLARS @robloxdevrel

Hey, im buzz. I made the biblically accurate emote. It was published on the 8th to the marketplace and a lot of people really liked it. Some liked it so much that they stole it and reuploaded it. Some liked it even more such that they falsely DMCA'd mine.
@Roblox please help...

I decided to make less UGC partly to focus on my own projects.
But I would be lying if I said moderation didn't have something to do with it.
Well today they have EVERYTHING to do with it.
Newsflash: if UGC is your primary source of revenue, I recommend diversifying.
