Disingenuous, but even then, I kinda feel like a lot of the same people would throw a fit if someone modded out her in-game portrait and looks to replace it with the more anime-style concept art. Loving the game regardless of the discourse, for what it's worth!
mama they are out there calling this girl man-like

I had a warehouse job at one point. We already had our two mandated short breaks. We all almost to a man voted against mandatory, 30 minute, unpaid lunch breaks that kept us away from our homes and families even longer. We hated the idea of 2.5 unpaid extra hours at work a week.
🚨 Minnesota passes bill requiring lunch breaks for workers. 64 Republicans voted no.

Some of the Ironmouse hate is unfair, but it's nice seeing both sides united in calling her out here. This is completely, entirely "Absurdly popular thing gave me piles of money and fame so I'm fine with it now despite taking a hard stance, and I won't even admit it out loud."
It warms my heart to see the anti AI community finally coming around to accepting AI. Truly happy! All it took was the possibility to gain money and clout!

Good times in life, good times in games. It was better days and dreams of better days all in one, the perfect system for the dawn of a new millennium, both literally and in my own life.
September 9, 1999. 27 years ago today, we launched @SEGA Dreamcast in the United States. We believed we were launching the future. And for a while, it felt like we were. Dreamcast may not have won the battle, but it left an extraordinary mark on gaming and on everyone fortunate enough to be part of it. I’m incredibly proud of what we created, and even more grateful for the people who made it happen. 27 years on, still dreaming. ❤️ #Dreamcast #Sega

Are we to the point where we're pretending the Hobbit trilogy wasn't utterly ripped into and still talked about negatively in Tolkien circles? I continue to recommend the Rankin Bass one over the live-action trilogy.
Yikes, the reaction to this one image from ROP is insane. Dwarves had super ridiculous hair all in The Hobbit trilogy and no one cared.

This post was on my feed literally right before the one about dwarf hair. teapaw.org/ReviewsPossum/status/2…
In the Lord of the Rings trilogy, they famously used forced perspective to make the hobbits look smaller than the humans. But when they made the Hobbit trilogy, they couldn't do this because forced perspective doesn't work in 3D, so they just did everything with green screens and CGi, enabling them to just resize the actors as needed in post. There's a notorious behind-the-scenes moment where Ian McKellen has a breakdown while struggling to act with his co-stars represented by photos of their faces on sticks. The end result is worse performances and worse visuals, all for the sake of the stupid 3D gimmick which no one cares about today.

I'm just going to repost this every time I'm stupid enough to get suckered into @amazon's "buy more, get it tomorrow!" It has to have been 9-10 times out of the last 12 that were delayed, sometimes significantly, after they pushed "Buy more, get it early next day!"
With 7-8 of 10 recent Amazon orders arriving late after their website pushed "buy in the next x minutes, get it tonight/tomorrow" deals, I'm starting to wonder, at what point does it become false advertising?

I like Matt and appreciate his work, but the phrase "I grew up Catholic and" is almost inevitably leading into a terrible take that says more about the person than Catholic theology. It's generally anecdotal or "I paid no attention". The coat story and everything else is there.
Replying to @TrevorSheatz
My wife grew up going to Catholic Churches. She learned NOTHING about the Bible. 20 years later she went back to church last year She learned about the story of Joseph and the coat of many colors LAST WEEK at our church. It’s crazy.

Best episode in years. Kinda hit me in the feels. The special guest does not disappoint!
New AVGN, with a very special guest!

So we lost stuff like "Relax man, you're two tents!" because of a bunch of made-up accusations that they compensated for by removing fun from the players and not the perpetrators who, as it turns out, didn't even do anything. Thanks, Blizzard!

Hogan, Goldberg got thank-you runs at 50 that lasted about a month. Punk won from poor Sami after just nine days and then retains after a month. Just doesn't work for me.

CM Punk was always a fav, but after all the drama, all the talk of putting over young guys and good ol' boys complaints, I feel like he should be upper midcard putting over younger guys, not carrying the belt twice at almost 50. Gotta go Cody, even if he's getting up there too.

Avowed 2 being canned hurts. 1 was good. The focus should never have switched from being an open-world RPG, but even ignoring that, it should have been a better action-RPG than we got. Still, Avowed was a solid foundation for what could have been a phenomenal sequel.

Why do people say "vintage" when they mean "retro" and "retro" when they mean "vintage"? It's like the literally/figuratively (or virtually) thing, but going both ways.

Super petty and nitpicky, but "former 2x champion" annoys me. "2x champion" or "two-time champion" is fine and unambiguous. "Former" implies they are no longer a 2x champion, meaning they must be a 3 or more time champion. #nitpicking #wwe

This is my thing with AI: sure, it helps corporations cut corners, but it's a tool that can make a HUGE DIFFERENCE for indie devs. You're hurting indies more than giant corporations by stigmatizing what is, essentially, another digital tool (albeit a very advanced one).
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney has called Valve’s AI disclosure policy on Steam “irresponsible,” arguing that forcing developers to label games using AI could unfairly target smaller studios. Sweeney believes AI will soon be a normal part of game development, so requiring developers to label games that use AI “makes no sense.” "I think it's really irresponsible of Valve. They shouldn't do it, because it makes it much, much, much harder for a game developer to have a chance of success. You have to choose from either not using tools that can make you way more productive, and probably failing due to competition that does." He also warned that these labels could make it easier for people to review-bomb games, especially those made by smaller studios.
