A Lear 60 is no where near its coffin corner at FL350. Tons of margin. Not relevant And yet, we have this post This horrible crash has been a reminder that this site is, unfortunately, a terrible place to go deep into a topic you know little about
Heard this term “coffin corner” from pilots as a possible contributing factor to the Learjet 60 crash. This is the best explanation of what it is and why descending rather than climbing is the way out. The coffin corner is a dangerous band high up in the sky where a plane’s “too slow” limit and “too fast” limit get so close together that the safe window narrows to almost nothing. If anything pushes the plane a little too slow or a little too fast (a bit of turbulence, a turn, or even trying to climb), it can easily slip outside that tiny safe band and fall out of the sky. That’s why it’s called the coffin corner - there’s almost no room for error, and losing control up there is extremely dangerous.

This stupid account has posted this stupid chart dozens (hundreds?) of times I see it on every crash thread Why? It’s not working bro. You have 454 followers despite the absolute spamming

Easier explanation... Don't fly in Learjets. They are by far the most dangerous private jet brand! 5 in every 1,000 ever build have crashed!

Has anyone used an AI headshots app that actually looks realistic? With a remote team I want to get us on a matching background and lighting

On the phone with a client (a contractor) who just said “hell at least I ain’t losing money on any jobs. I’ve just about had my name on the side of school buildings with a ‘donated by’ plaque because I lost so much money on them”

Maiden flight sneak peek
Trevor Milton pricing the Syberjet SJ36 at $14M doing NY to LA nonstop with a projected operating cost of $30,000. A light jet, but at midsize performance.

The Swearingen SJ30 is an incredible performer and a beautiful jet, and I was sad to see Tevor Milton take over the development with (now) Syberjet The SJ30 went through sale after sale and redesign after redesign and never overcame the phenomenal developments costs and lack of market Now the stretch model is coming with in-house avionics…one of the same mistakes that Eclipse made, making it even more difficult This makes zero sense to essentially anyone in aviation. If you can’t see a garmin G3000 or G5000 setup work, then it’s likely you aren’t looking hard enough But money loves over-promising
Tonight, Syberjet will reveal their new light jet model, the SJ36. Supposed to do NY to LA nonstop in a light jet faster than any competitor. The CEO is Trevor Milton, formerly of Nikola (the electric truck startup). I’ll be there tonight and will make sure to get pics!

Say what you will about Schottenheimer but who else has the balls to risk his absolute weapon for a -3 yards per carry jet sweep? Ball guy.

~24 million people in the US with a net worth over 1m 🤣
Very interesting! Now that I think of it, I actually don't think I know a single person with a +$1M net worth who drinks (or at least gets drunk). Interesting correlation. My wife and I stopped drinking when she was pregnant almost 5 years ago and we haven't touched alcohol since.

I love election season commercials because my 6 year old gets to hear the line "Talarico supported using taxpayer dollars for sex change surgeries on young children" every single time we watch football ☠️

This is similar to a point in @Clay’s fantastic writing policy guide: it’s disrespectful to your reader to ask them spend more time consuming your output than you spent authoring it Two clicks for you. Two minutes for your counterparty to (painfully) talk to your AI
I answer the phone for the restaurant I manage. AI agents/services often make reservations this way. The fake conversationality is the most maddening thing about it. The “right,” “yeah,” “ok!” I know they’ll only get “better” at this but it feels like being condescended to

YTD my firm’s cost on outsourced labor is 2.5% what we spent in 2025 (we haven’t hired anyone)
I left Wall Street in 2021 and started my own business focused on data analytics, financial modeling, and strategy consulting. While AI has made new things possible, it has ruined a lot of the older core things. Net net, most of the work I do is now so depressing that I have no choice but to radically remake myself. Yes, AI can do the excel work in 10 minutes that took me 3 hours… but the little bit of “flow state” satisfaction has been eliminated entirely. Worse, now clients not only expect things to be done immediately.. but are using AI themselves which muddies not only the deliverables but begs the question… “what are we all doing here?” I might take a bartending course.

It’s nice to have the ball rolling We closed a deal in April and I personally had very little on my plate for most of summer A few years ago I would have been sweating the pipeline, but we’ve been in it long enough to know it’s hard to predict when good work will come in Now, we’re busy again Pitches every week Surprise deals coming back from the dead Sending engagement letters to sellers who want to get started quickly It was a nice break…now back to work!
