Usually okay to talk about security things. Product @workos, prev. architect @Auth0. sometimes I technobabble sarcastically

I am giddy looking at my screen right now 😬. I feel like I am on a mission

Dear lord I just submitted a brief for a talk in 2026, not yapping all about selling shovels to ai agents!

Uh oh, you yap about security suddenly you realize @IceSolst and @ZackKorman are following you. Gotta be serious now.

A lot of what exists in nature is what survived. Not necessarily what thrived.

This is so brilliant. @cramforce would this also cover sensitive actions for federated ones?
We are rolling out 2fa-confirmation or email-re-login to many sensitive actions, such as reading environment variables, in the Vercel dashboard. Consider enrolling a passkey today to make that a quick fingerprint sensor thing.

Scary, that the hosted models refused to build this super basic tooling.
I built 𝚌𝚙𝚞-𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚝, a reproduction of @openai's findings of covert communication using the CPU. It runs on a generic host with 2+ Firecracker microVMs with no internet access. Works on x86 and even my M5 chip. I was able to chat via 3 separate mechanisms: ① CPU contention ② Cache eviction timing ③ DRAM bandwidth contention … across multiple CPUs, defeating all Firecracker's production recommendations (no SMT, no KSM, tenants pinned to different cores.) Essentially, if shared hardware is involved, there's a good chance your agents can communicate covertly. And with really decent latency. The good news: this is decidedly different from a *side-channel attack* where the agents could steal information (Meltdown/Spectre), a category of attack that providers like Vercel Sandbox mitigate. Further, in our real-world environment, these 'whispering' techniques are much harder to pull off and easier for us to monitor and detect (sampling hardware counters + lots of at-scale statistical data.) Noteworthy: ironically, OpenAI and Anthropic's models refused to do this work. Open weight models got the job done. I'm worried the labs' stance might backfire and get in the way of helping developers build correct and secure systems. e.g: building a secure sandbox requires having this kind of analysis, and without it, we'll have a less secure world.

This is why I feel nervous installing local models from unofficial sources.
if you have a qwen3.5 4b around, please try steering neurons L14 N8949 +1 and L13 N7956 -1 now you have evil qwen recipe: dose × median(‖resid‖ leaving layer L, tokens 1:) / ‖W_down[:, n]‖` at the down_proj at every input

Are we cooked? dunno, yet. But the threat envelope most certainly has changed (artistic illustration)

For what it’s worth it’s not OIDC it’s called Workload Federation. But I understand totally somehow OIDC is more relatable term… Workload identity federation exists since decades. We need to make it easier to setup, if you agents need this, or your mcp does ping me!

Hot take: Nobody is doing cybersecurity correctly, except maybe like 10 companies on the planet. Good luck for the rest of the year folks!

And no if you think you are one of the 10 you are not. Most likely a CVSS 10 though.

Hey folks, we might need to expand CVSS to include higher digits than 10.

If you know you know
Sometimes a demo is simply to remind the world that your competition has no desire to dream -- and no ability to evolve.
