Today, we remember Aberfan.
At 9:15am on 21st October 1966 at the bottom of a mountain in Aberfan, Wales, children at Pantglas Junior School were preparing for class. At the same time, a waste spoil tip positioned at the top of the mountain collapsed.
150,000 tonnes of coal waste slid down the mountain and engulfed the school and surrounding homes, sadly killing 116 children and 28 adults.
Today marks 60 years from this tragedy, yet we never forget. We remember the lives of those lost, and the families they left behind. 🏴🤍🕊️ – at Aberfan, Wales

#Misogyny—online and offline—is an urgent threat to gender equality.
Sometimes it's subtle. Other times it's dismissed as harmless. And too often, it's normalized.
#ForAllWomenAndGirls, it's time to challenge misogyny wherever it shows up.
