Hi guys just a reminder that I made a short audio piece lovingly parodying community radio set in a world where Cornish mythic creatures are real & THEY are also pissed off about gentrification, xenophobic stereotypes & the struggles of day to day life! bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001hwh…

I don’t know if I’m just noticing it more for other reasons but every time I go Wales I genuinely think I hear more of the Welsh language every time. It’s lovely. Mums and their toddlers, people on the phone, just people chatting with friends etc. It makes me really happy to hear

Want to hear something nice? When I came out, I was in a relationship with a guy from Plymouth. As a proud Cornishman, my dad had this reaction. ‘Jack, we love you just the same. But was there really not a SINGLE man on the right side of the Tamar you could have started with?’

Folklore constantly adapts and evolves and changes. The stories we tell one another, whether to entertain on long winter nights, frighten children into safety or simply to explain the world around us, evolve as the world around us does.

With advancing technology comes new methods to tell stories and different ways to experience monsters and primal fears, modern bogeymen take shape in the form of Samara crawling out of a tv screen and internet-created and shared terrors like Slenderman.

Human beings will always tell one another stories - the roots of which extend so far back that we can no longer see the original tree, but know that it must be there all the same.

In remembrance of our great friend, Vincent Price. He died on this day 31 years ago. He almost lived until Halloween day, which would have made him gleefully happy. 🎃RIP. #HappyHalloween.

Passed over the Tamar, into Cornwall, coming home to the land of my ancestors. Bye bye London. For good this time. I think I belong, but I’ll find out

Every change this website implements is for the worse…what is the point in the block button if who you are trying to deny access to your posts still has access to your posts??

I have thousands (no exaggeration) on my block list who I don’t even want to know I EXIST, I want them NO WHERE near my content and my posts & now they are going to be able to see everything?! Ridiculous & seriously makes me consider deleting this app again

Been a hectic couple of weeks between exhibition changeovers but this might be the exhibition I’m most proud of. Wheal Martyn Unseen: the Weird and Wonderful of Wheal Martyn was a great chance to display interesting objects that are usually in storage. Open Friday! Come & see 🥰

Do you have any idea how accents & class intersect in the UK? How accents are tied to place, class, education & upbringing? Did you mistakenly think you were having a pop at aristocratic Englishmen with comments about ‘SILLY’ accents? Or is the whole population fair game? 🤷‍♀️
Why the fuck do the English have like 25 different accents when all their major population areas are like a 15 minutes drive from each other .

This is a mind numbingly stupid sentiment - the varied accents of BRITAIN, not just England, reflect regional history, culture, dialect, different LANGUAGES, waves of immigration etc. To quantify these things by their ‘usefulness’ is a horrible way to live & view the world.
Replying to @facetedcarapace
Fucking 25 accents for a place the size of Alabama. And half of them are so silly they clearly are past their usefulness

How the fuck do you decide the objective usefulness of a whole culture? Of minority languages? Of historic dialects? Of history? This drive to homogenise all the time is one of my least favourite things. To turn a vibrant, rich diversity into One Big Blob That’s All The Same. 🙄
