At the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, a tigress, back from a prowl, enters a waterhole to quench her thirst. Her eyes still scanning the horizon, even though the water on her coat feels good and the weight of the sun seems a little less now than it was, the big cat still can’t get too comfortable...what if someone takes a photo? Alas! Methra Manjunath (Instagram: @methra_manjunath) spotted her and captured the tigress on the Sigma 150-600mm. The frame was kept tight on her face and front, letting the water and shadowed background isolate her completely. A low angle, a calm moment, and nothing else competing for attention. #Tadoba #TadobaAndhariTigerReserve #WildlifePhotography #BigCats #Sigma150600 #SIGMA

You photograph a subject at f/1.4. One eye is sharp. The other isn't. Was the aperture too wide? Were you too close? Or did your focus land exactly where it shouldn't? What would you change first?

The fog had rolled into Mussoorie thick enough to swallow the streetlights whole, and that's exactly when Soumyojit decided to head out. Most people would have stayed in. But there he spotted a little boy out on a mischievous nightly adventure. The boy ran toward the glow of a lone food stall at the top of the hill, its warm light bleeding into the haze. He shot handheld in near darkness, letting the fog do half the work, softening the streetlamps into hazy orange bulbs while the stall's sign cut through as the one sharp point of colour in the frame. Captured by Soumyojit (Instagram Username: theblack_hood) on the SIGMA 30mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary. Some of the best night shots don't need much planning. Just fog thick enough to hide the ordinary, and a lens fast enough to catch what's left. #SIGMA #SIGMAContemporary #Sigma30mm #StreetPhotography #NightPhotography #TravelPhotography #SonyAlpha

More bokeh doesn't automatically mean a better photograph. Sometimes the background needs to disappear for the actual subject to become the hero focus. But sometimes the location itself, the clutter, the background noise, each and every element other than the subject tells a better story than just the subject in focus. Therefore, the question isn't always: “How blurry can I make it?” It’s: “How much of the world does this photograph need?”

In the vast lands of the Masai, a hippo is rushing towards the river. Despite their weight and slower perception of gait, hippos are incredible short-distance runners, reaching speeds upwards of 40+ Kilometres. So you set up your camera, your shutter speed is already where you need it. Your aperture is wide open. But the photograph is still too dark. You have one setting left. ISO up, or let the photograph go?

Praneeth [Instagram Handle: @praneethred] reviewed the new SIGMA fp2, a full-frame camera small enough to slip into a pocket, and expected the usual trade-offs that come with a body this size. What he found instead was a camera that kept up with everything. In his own words: “Some cameras make you think about the gear. Others make you want to get out and create. The SIGMA fp2 does the latter for me. A compact full-frame camera that’s incredibly versatile, with significantly improved autofocus, a tiltable screen, and some seriously impressive video capabilities, including 6K Open Gate. Small enough to take everywhere, capable enough to do a whole lot more.” Building on the original fp series, the SIGMA fp2 combines full-fledged shooting capabilities with flexible expandability in a pocket-sized, lightweight body. Featuring a high-performance full-frame sensor and dedicated user interfaces for still and cine modes, it is designed to adapt to diverse creative needs. Small, Powerful, Adaptable. More frames from Pramod's (@pramodmani_) night at the fair, shot on the new SIGMA 50-120mm F2.8 DC OS | Contemporary. Riders caught mid-spin, motion blurred into streaks of colour, and silhouettes swinging against a dusk sky. A constant F2.8 aperture and optical stabilization kept it all steady as the lights came on. Riddhirup had been wading through the wetlands of Nadia for hours, chasing nothing in particular, when a tiny puff of feathers caught his eye between the lily pads. A Pheasant-tailed Jacana chick, barely a few days old, was balancing on a thin green stem, surrounded by pink water lilies. The chicklet cared too little about the man in the distance, it hadn’t learned caution yet, giving Ridhirup the perfect candid shot. The blooms around it were impossibly vivid against the murky green water, and the chick's fluffy feathers caught the light just right, standing out sharply against the soft blur of petals and pads. You have to delete 90% of your camera roll. You can't keep photographs because they're technically good. You can only keep the ones you would actually miss. What makes a photograph impossible for you to delete?

Out on a stroll in your city, a kilometre or two from home, what do you witness? A flock of passenger pigeons flying in unison, forming the structure of a Möbius strip around a hovering commercial helicopter. Which city, you ask... that's classified. But that's the real reason photographers carry a camera everywhere. Because the one day they don't, something incredible happens. What's the best shot you've missed because you didn't have your camera?

The morning haze hadn't fully lifted as Dev headed down to the coast near Worli, where the fishing boats sat anchored just off the promenade, bobbing quietly while the skyline rose behind them: glass towers, cranes, a city still building, rebuilding. The boats, painted in fading reds and blues, floated still against the grey-green water, the beach curving away toward the buildings in the distance. He framed it wide, letting the boats sit small against the scale of the skyline behind them, that contrast being the whole point. Old wooden hulls in the foreground, glass and concrete rising far beyond. Captured by Dev (Instagram Username: dev7.x) on the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN. Sometimes the city doesn't need a landmark to feel like Mumbai. A few boats, a quiet tide, and a skyline that never stops growing say enough on their own. #SIGMA #SIGMAContemporary #Sigma2470 #StreetPhotography #CityPhotography #TravelPhotography #Mumbai

You’re back from a shoot and find two photographs of the same moment: a baby spider monkey in a hero shot, swinging from a vine with its long limbs stretching to fill the entire frame, and another of the same spider monkey clinging to its mother's belly as she sits quietly on a branch as the dim sunset light falls gently on her coat. One is technically cleaner. The other has slightly imperfect framing but captures the expression perfectly. You can only submit one pitcure for the competition, what do you choose? A beautiful frame or an honest frame?

A fair after dark, where every frame has a story to tell. From a Ferris wheel lit up in colour to daredevils inside the death well and candid moments on the rides, Pramod (Instagram Handle: @pramodmani_) captures the energy of the evening on the new SIGMA 50-120mm F2.8 DC OS | Contemporary. Designed for APS-C cameras, its 75-180mm equivalent reach brings distant action and close-up details within frame. The constant F2.8 aperture and optical stabilization support low-light shooting, while the compact, lightweight build makes it easy to carry through an evening of photography and video. On the train from Bangalore to Mulki, you encounter the prettiest landscape, approaching in seconds. You rush to grab your camera, but you only get one chance to capture a frame where the landscape, the reflection, and the passing subject align. You know the photograph will have motion blur. Do you embrace the blur or try to freeze the scene?

At the Marine Drive Shoreline of Mumbai, you are trying to photograph a portrait; it's the 5 pm sun, so the golden hour is just about as good as it can be. You have beautiful lighting, but the background is too cluttered with endless crowds of similar visitors, tourists, vendors, busy making a living or escaping from it. You can either move closer and isolate the subject, or you can step back and let the entire environment become part of this photograph. You can only choose one approach. Both are equally tempting shots: one that highlights the subject, the other the story.......You have one lens. Which lens are you choosing: 50mm or 85mm?

A vibrantly lit evening fair, amusement rides in motion, daredevils in action, and a crowd full of excited faces. Pramod shot this series on the new SIGMA 50-120mm F2.8 DC OS | Contemporary, a telephoto zoom for APS-C cameras covering roughly 75-180mm in 35mm equivalent terms. A constant F2.8 aperture and optical stabilization kept the frames bright and steady in low light; sharpness held across rides in constant motion, and close-up capability brought out the detail of the people enjoying them. All of it in a palm-sized, lightweight body that handles both stills and video. Introducing the new SIGMA 50-120mm F2.8 DC OS | Contemporary. One of Pune's oldest and most revered idols, the Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Shrine gathered crowds of devotees waiting to get a glimpse at the face they only get to see once every year. Inside, everything glowed orange, the walls, the carved arches, the idol seated at the centre under warm, layered lighting, and the engravings beside it. Sarthak captured the full shrine in one shot before the light or the moment shifted, holding onto everything from the detail in the carvings to the movement of devotees framing it almost as if what a devotee entering the shrine would see. Captured by Sarthak Shah (Instagram Username: soul5_visuals) on the SIGMA 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary. #SIGMA #SIGMAContemporary #Sigma1850 #StreetPhotography #FestivalPhotography #TravelPhotography #SonyAlpha
