Well this is really interesting. With irrefutable historical facts…it’s the Democrats that have been destroying our Social Security system for decades.

@coloradodems
HISTORY LESSON ON YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD:
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn’t know this. It’s easy to check out, if you don’t believe it. Be sure and show it to your family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what’s what and it doesn’t matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are FACTS.
Up until the 1980's, Social Security cards expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes.
Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the "NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION" message was removed.
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. His promises are in black, with updates in brackets.
1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary [No longer voluntary],
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program [Now 7.65% on the first $90,000, and 15% on the first $90,000 if you’re self-employed],
3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year [No longer tax deductible],
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent ‘Trust Fund’ rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program [Under Johnson the money was moved to the General Fund and spent], and
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income [Under Clinton & Gore up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxed].
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month — and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to ‘put away’ — you may be interested in the following:
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent ‘Trust Fund’ and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the ‘tie-breaking’ deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US
AND MY FAVORITE:
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: That’s right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!
Now, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it! If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not, though. Some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn’t so — but it’s worth a try.
Succinct and factual….read it!
Well, that's a lie. If you make $100,000, your tax is 4.4%, exactly the same as it is now. Yara should read the blue book. If you make less, you get a tiny temporary tax cut, because this is not indexed for inflation. In time, all of us will be paying 8.4% income tax in Colorado because of inflation. If you have to lie to sell a proposal, maybe it's not a good proposal. #copolitics

Here's how I define "chutzpah," #copolitics
The phony "libertarian" who has been actively undermining the right to hunt in Colorado, by stacking our parks and wildlife board with animal rights activists, and who has led an irrational and self-destructive crusade against fossil fuels in Colorado, including natural gas, is over on Facebook scolding people who might want to support two ballot measures that guarantee the right to hunt and use natural gas in Colorado.
@GovofCO also has the chutzpah to tout this as "the free state of Colorado," while actively working to deny residents the freedom to hunt and the freedom to use fossil fuels -- which is what forced reasonable people to put these measures before voters.
Does it look like a "free state" to you, Jared, when residents are forced to go to the ballot to secure rights that are taken for granted in almost every other state in the country?
Eight long years of Jared Polis made these ballot measures necessary. Eight long years of one-party-rule by the gaggle of radicals in the Colorado Statehouse made these measures necessary. Now the people who undermined our rights to hunt and use reliable energy are warning of dire consequences if we take a stand against the madness that has gripped this state throughout their reign of error? Now THAT'S what I call chutzpah.
Strike a blow against Jared's insufferable hypocrisy, and secure your besieged rights to hunt and use fossil fuels, by voting "Yes" on ballot Measures 82 and 83!

And yet will they do anything, or just pander to the extreme left of their Party and damn the consequences?
Releasing dangerous illegal immigrants on the streets, and disarming law abiding citizens. What could possibly go wrong…

@GovofCO
Read it and weep, #copolitics. But even more importantly, read it and RESPOND.
I'm talking of course about a House Judiciary Committee interim report -- "Colorado: The Dangerous Consequences of Sanctuary Policies" -- documenting how Denver and Boulder systematically ignored ICE detainers for people charged with or previously arrested for serious crimes. Denver and Boulder have ignored ICE detainers for foreigners charged with or convicted of serious crimes, including sexual assault on a child, felony assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, child abuse, and domestic violence. In 2026 alone, Denver’s sheriff’s office released individuals facing charges from attempted murder to strangulation instead of transferring them to federal custody. Boulder did the same for people with records of child abuse, bribery, and more.
At least 20 named individuals whose detainers were declined this year included a Venezuelan national arrested for sexual assault on a child in a position of trust, a Mexican national with a record that includes strangulation, assault, and kidnapping, and others facing charges ranging from felony assault with a deadly weapon to attempted murder. One suspected Tren de Aragua member was released to the streets after Denver gave ICE only one to two hours’ notice.
In Boulder, the sheriff’s office ignored detainers for individuals with histories of aggravated assault, child abuse, domestic violence, and bribery. One named case involved a man arrested for sexually assaulting a minor multiple times.
These aren’t abstract policy debates. They’re decisions that put repeat offenders back on the streets while local prosecutors weigh immigration status to help foreign nationals avoid deportation.
Local prosecutors in both jurisdictions have policies that explicitly consider immigration status when deciding charges and pleas -- so foreign nationals can avoid deportation consequences that American citizens face.
Here's some of the scant coverage this damning report has received in Colorado:
archive.li/blAbL.
Mayor Mike Johnston’s response? Denver is both “safe” and “welcoming,” crime rates “plummeted,” and the real problem is the federal government “demonizing” immigrants. Boulder DA Michael Dougherty called the report a “political stunt” and “political theatre.”
Tell that to the family of Carissa Aspnes, permanently disabled in 2025 when an unlicensed Venezuelan national who had entered illegally ran a stop sign and slammed her into a concrete barrier.
Yes, read it and weep, Colorado.
But we will have to do more than just weep if we're going to roll back the sanctuary policies that put the claimed rights of foreign nationals above the safety of residents. We will have to change the leaders who put these policies into place. Everyone who has followed the crimes, cases and stories knows this has been a problem. Changing the leaders who created and defended these policies is the only way it stops.

@GovofCO
@pweiser
Barack Obama signed the Affordable Care Act in March 2010, guaranteeing you cheaper insurance, more competition, and the ability to keep your doctor. Premiums for individual plans more than doubled between 2013 and 2017. Deductibles climbed so high that millions of technically "insured" Americans still skipped medical care because the out-of-pocket costs were prohibitive.
The government mandated what your insurance must cover, forced healthy young people to subsidize older high-risk pools, and then expressed genuine surprise when prices spiked. Prices always tell the truth.
The 2009 stimulus, officially $831 billion, operated on the Keynesian assumption that government spending creates wealth. Government spending transfers wealth, first taxing or borrowing it from the productive sector, then routing it through political channels where efficiency is nobody's personal concern. The "shovel-ready jobs" Obama later joked about produced no measurable acceleration in recovery. The recession that followed 2008 should have cleared in 18 months, as previous sharp downturns historically did when left alone. The Obama recovery took a decade and delivered the weakest GDP growth of any post-war expansion on record.
Dodd-Frank, signed in 2010, weighs 2,300 pages. Community banks spent compliance budgets they never had, and roughly 1,900 small banks vanished between 2010 and 2016. The big institutions that actually caused the 2008 crisis absorbed the regulatory cost with ease and used the new complexity as a competitive moat. Regulations written by large players consistently protect large players. The middle-class small-business owners who needed credit found fewer lenders willing to offer it.
Obama also expanded drone warfare to seven countries, assassinated American citizens without trial, and extended the surveillance state through a reauthorized PATRIOT Act, which undermines any libertarian's case that the Democratic Party is less hostile to civil liberties than its competition.
Then there was Cash for Clunkers, which destroyed 690,000 working cars in 2009 by crushing them with sodium silicate. Mechanics lost parts inventory. Buyers on a budget lost affordable transportation. Prices for used cars spiked. You paid more so dealers could move new inventory.
A generation of voters watched the government spend $5 trillion across two terms, nationalize health insurance markets, regulate finance into oligopoly, and print money through three rounds of quantitative easing that inflated asset prices and rewarded those who already owned property. You paid higher premiums, earned lower real wages, and watched your savings earn nothing in a deliberately suppressed interest-rate environment. The bill always arrives later. You see the ribbon cutting and the document signing, but you feel the damage to your pocket only years later.
Well then…guess we are all going to freeze instead of bake…who knew!
In 1972, scientists wrote a letter to President Nixon warning of a new ice age.

Ludwig von Mises was born 145 years ago today. Here’s what the Austrian economist had to say about socialism:
“The champions of socialism call themselves progressives, but they recommend a system which is characterized by rigid observance of routine and by a resistance to every kind of improvement.
They call themselves liberals, but they are intent upon abolishing liberty. They call themselves democrats, but they yearn for dictatorship. They call themselves revolutionaries, but they want to make the government omnipotent.
They promise the blessings of the Garden of Eden, but they plan to transform the world into a gigantic post office. Every man but one a subordinate clerk in a bureau.”
Another thought provoking read….unemotional, and factual.

After four decades of the climate transition toward Net Zero, reliable, energy-dense hydrocarbon fuels still provide 81% of the world's primary energy.
Coal and gas power remain the essential backup when renewables fail. Heavy and often dangerous lithium batteries cannot match the energy density, range, and fast refueling under heavy load of the internal combustion engine—the very technology that liberated humanity from horse-drawn transport.
Yet despite this vast industrial effort, the energy produced by wind and solar is really only suited to keeping the lights on. It lacks the dense, high-temperature power essential for heavy manufacturing, ocean-going freight, aviation, or sustaining the global transport network.
It looks less like an energy evolution and more like a deliberate strategy to drive modern Western economies to their knees.
So-called 'renewable energy' is largely incompatible with existing power grids. Major institutions, such as BloombergNEF, estimate global grid expansion and reinforcement costs through 2050 will reach $21 trillion just to accommodate electrification and variable renewable generation.
Lumbering wind turbines and their slowly turning blades simply masquerade as clean, green power. They are not the answer. Great phalanxes of glistening solar panels now fill the vaults of nature, swallowing farmland and hillsides—yet their output fades the moment it rains, turns dark, or gathers dust.
With roughly 2.3 million turbine towers and 9 billion solar panels deployed worldwide, this colossal overbuild of metal structures is draining global mineral and mining resources.
The overwhelming majority of this hardware is manufactured in China, which controls up to 90% of global turbine, solar panel, and component supply chains. Yet Beijing has built its own industrial dominance on cheap coal power, continuing to construct new coal-fired plants at a pace of up to two per week.
The irony is stark: Western nations are systematically dismantling their own hydrocarbon wealth, sinking into economic turmoil while handing manufacturing hegemony to an adversary. Who is really winning?
For forty years, an agenda driven by false haste, urgency, and fear has been spearheaded by United Nations-led initiatives—pushing globalist oversight and unprecedented centralised control.
This has driven the staggeringly costly proliferation of weather-dependent infrastructure in a futile attempt to capture the low-density energy of sunlight and wind.
Well then….seems
like that was a bit of a failure…

Rather fascinating stuff….
Despite four decades of continuous climate alarmism, roughly 10% of the Earth's total land area remains permanently capped by glacial ice, which covers 15 million square kilometers (5.8 million square miles).
Earth is still bound to the Late Cenozoic Ice Age, and our planet's average global temperature still hovers around a very livable 15°C.
This is far below the world's long-term planetary average of 18°C to 24°C - seen throughout most of Earth's biological history. It makes the idea of a global warming crisis seem out of sync with reality.
That is nearly a third of its extent during the peak of the Last Glacial Maximum (26,000 to 19,000 years ago), when continental ice sheets reached their historical zenith.
The Antarctic ice sheet remains the largest and thickest body of ice on the planet, extending up to 4.8 kilometers (about 3 miles) deep. It holds roughly 90% of global ice volume and accounts for 85% of total glacial land cover. Spanning 14 million square kilometers (5.4 million square miles), Antarctica alone makes up 8.3% of Earth's total land surface.
A basic geographical reality is often forgotten: land comprises a mere 28% of the planet's surface. All human cities, towns, and infrastructure combined occupy just 1% to 3% of that land (while deserts take up 33% and forests 31%).
We live on an ocean world, and waters cover 72% of the globe to an average depth of 2.3 miles.
Crucially, the oceans hold 86% of the global carbon reservoir and absorb over 90% of retained thermal energy. By contrast, the atmosphere holds a fraction of a percent of each. The oceans—not human industrial activity—serve as the true long-term regulatory engine for atmospheric carbon dioxide and global climate stability.
The current Quaternary Glaciation is part of an ice age cycle that began 34 million years ago with the thermal isolation and glaciation of Antarctica, later intensified by the closure of the Isthmus of Panama and orbital variations (Milankovitch cycles).
Carbon dioxide was not the driver of these immense shifts.
All of human civilisation, agriculture and technological progress has unfolded within a brief, warm respite: the Holocene interglacial period, which began just 11,700 years ago.
Yet for 40 years, the narrative has been dominated by a campaign driven by an unaccountable bureaucratic authority—the United Nations—pushing an agenda of global control.
A disturbing must read…and sadly occurring in our once great State.

This may well go down as the single greatest transfer of public assets by elected democratic governments in world history.
Without any serious consultation with their own citizens, Western governments eagerly aligned with the UN and signed onto framework agreements like the 2015 Paris Accord. What began as voluntary international targets rapidly morphed into binding domestic legislation.
The resulting legacy is the systematic exclusion of taxpayers from decision-making, while administrations power ahead, committing billions in subsidies to unproven pet projects—such as Australia’s much-hyped green hydrogen initiative.
Virtually all heavy industry across the West is now in chronic decline. Manufacturing jobs are being hollowed out, striking directly at power-intensive sectors like electric arc steel, aluminium smelting, and fertiliser production. Once-abundant, cheap, and reliable hydrocarbon energy is being degraded and decommissioned in favour of weather-dependent renewables.
Simultaneously, the supply chain for this transition has been handed lock, stock, and barrel to Beijing. China now produces roughly 90% of all photovoltaic components, refined critical minerals, and panel hardware—cementing its position as the greatest manufacturing power in history through an unprecedented transfer of Western wealth.
In place of high-density power generation, more than a million wind turbines and an estimated 9 billion solar panels are now scattered across open farmlands, hillsides, and coastal vistas. Because these sources are intermittent and unreliable, integrating them into existing power grids presents a colossal $21 trillion global infrastructure challenge.
Prior to this shift, Western industrial policy prioritised dense, dispatchable energy security. Today, governments unilaterally lock in multi-decade decarbonisation commitments that outlast their electoral tenures by decades. Vast tracts of public and agricultural land are greenlit and bulldozed for transmission corridors, access roads, and sprawling industrial turbine arrays—all to serve an intangible belief system that vilifies carbon dioxide, the very driver of essential energy and biological growth.
The tangible result? Some of the most expensive household power bills in modern history, the destruction of dispatchable coal and gas capacity, and severe damage to national industrial, economic, and defensive resilience.
As one outraged writer noted, Net Zero stands as perhaps the most diabolical act of self-inflicted harm ever visited upon democratic nations by their own leadership.
Government by regulatory decree is not government by representation. Mandating a multi-decade economic rewiring without an explicit electoral mandate violates the fundamental social contract between the state and the citizen. Locking in 30-year subsidy contracts strips future generations of their democratic right to adjust policy based on real-world performance.
If we weren’t so accustomed to being betrayed, it would be recognised for what it is: a raw, heavy-handed exercise in power at the expense of the people.
Still think this is a “gold standard” @pweiser @JenaGriswold
If nothing else the numerous assertions (backed by data) posted by this person should be investigated. It’s the right thing to do.

Sometimes, when a Coloradan changes their last name by marrying or ‘unmarrying’, a voter registration may be duplicated on the Colorado voter roll because there doesn’t seem to much of a process in place to check for duplicates because of the dippy Secretary of State.
In this likely duplicate scenario, there are four active status registrants at the same address and two have the same first name, same middle name, and same birth year so it doesn’t take anyone with the limited cranial capacitor of a ‘Democrat Socialist’ to see that this is likely YET ANOTHER instance of a duplicated Colorado voter registration.
The fact that she has been doing the right thing and (based on information on the public Colorado voter roll) only returning one of the two ballots she’s been receiving since 2020, seems to support this assertion.
But what a waste of time and money sending one person two ballots!
But then again, this is the ‘gold standard’ inaction (or in action)…
Every First Responder will always remember what they where doing when they first heard the news of the 9/11 attacks. We where all put on standby or ordered into work. What a terrible and tragic day. I will never forgive those that did this, and I will #NeverForget

If anyone thinks the Colorado voter roll is an accurate representation of eligible voters in the state, they are being a fool to themselves and a burden to others.
The current public voter roll shows that in addition to 190 active status Colorado registrants whose ballot mailing addresses are in the Republic of Korea (South Korea), there are also six brave Coloradans who have somehow or other snuck across the demilitarized zone and are allegedly temporarily or permanently living in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea).
Of course, if you have an overseas mailing address on the Colorado voter roll, you get to vote electronically so it doesn’t really matter where you say you live, overseas or in the U.S.
Curiously, of the six Coloradans who are alleged North Korean residents, five voted in November 2024 and four of them were registered Democrats.
Geography is NOT one of the Colorado Secretary of State’s strong suits.
Then again, neither is election integrity.
Why is it that so many people in our State and Nation fail to grasp this simple economic fact.

Jena Griswold Has Failed as Secretary of State—She’d Be a Complete Disaster as Attorney General
If you think Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold’s track record in her current role is bad, brace yourself for what happens if she gets elected Attorney General.
From staggering staff turnover—burning through three deputy secretaries, three chief legal counsels, and four chiefs of staff in a matter of months—to sitting on embarrassing government records, her incompetence is unmatched. Recent reporting reveals her office spent nearly $25,000 in taxpayer money on a leadership consultant’s report that was so "highly critical of her" that her office seemingly made it disappear to avoid public record requests.
A state judge had to order her office to make a simple phone call to recover the document, calling their excuses "implausible."
Gross Incompetence: Leaked county election-equipment passwords online and hid it from local officials until it hit the news.
Toxic Leadership: Drove away top talent through sheer internal dysfunction and toxic management.
Zero Accountability: Refuses transparency, wastes taxpayer dollars on legal battles to hide her own failures, and displays utter contempt for public records laws.
Griswold has proven she cannot manage a single department without chaos, secrecy, and total failure. Handing her the keys to the Attorney General's office would lead to skyrocketing crime, unchecked lawlessness, and an absolute collapse of state justice. She is toxic, incompetent, and unfit for higher office.
