You know, if your aim is to have no fanfic left because writers are so done being told what they're doing wrong constantly that they just stop, you're succeeding. Well done.

I'm going to answer your very first question because I think this is the core of my argument. The fact that anyone has to ask, "What makes a hobby above critique?" is the thing that honestly makes me so fucking sad. Accuse me of overreacting if you like, but what the fuck has happened to the world when literal hobbies β things people do to bring a little joy to their lives or to distract them from their problems, or Christ, just to have a bit of fun β SHOULD be critiqued?
I mean, are we seriously saying that no one is allowed to do something just because they want to? Just because they want to try something new? They're not asking anything in return; they're not even asking for kindness, to be honest, just to be left alone to do their thing. If you don't like it, just say nothing. Is that REALLY too much to ask?
This whole debate has depressed more than you can imagine. The fact that you and others believe with your whole chest that a HOBBY should actively be critiqued and that those hobbiest should be somehow grateful (wtf???) makes me despair for the world we're becoming. You'd think that with all the horror and misery in the world, hobbies would be either encouraged or just ignored. That people would be left to find what joy they can. But no, apparently even that is too much to ask. π€·ββοΈ
Not to mention kissing a guy on TV... poor Harry, it must be so hard being force closeted while also free to do as much gay stuff as you can. π€·ββοΈ
To be clear, this is based on zero insight, just how the mv made me feel. I think the song is really reflective, like a drunken evening spent thinking about your past and the people you met along the way.
So it feels to me like each of his dance partners represents a relationship (not necessarily romantic) from his past. I suspect gender isn't really important but who knows? The first woman has a nosebleed β maybe a relationship that moved too fast and scared them both? Then the guy who was a little too much, too protective. Then the pregnant lady - his desire for kids maybe, someone he could settle down with but he immediately gets distracted by a woman who's dancing with him, but her interest is elsewhere. Someone who hurt him, maybe.
He moves on to the bride. He seems happy dancing with her, through life, through the kitchen, but she morphs into someone else (yes, a man, but I'm not fully convinced that matters. Could do though, wouldn't surprise me!). He pushes the man away and accidentally hurts him, and everyone gathers round looking at what he's done.
I am honestly lost at the dancing woman in the middle β your guess is as good as mine on that one!
And at the end, all of the people he's remembered leave the room, leaving him reflectively eating his biscuit until the photograph where he's softly smiling, having made his peace with his past.
There, that's about it. I'm probably way off, but that's how it felt to me.
For the beta anon last night, if you're still looking! β₯οΈ

Anon 1) I didnβt, sorry! Anon 2) Iβm not sure exactly what this is about but setting boundaries is never a bad thing no matter who you are. Famous people are people. They deserve privacy and care just like anyone else. I hope people respect whatever boundaries heβs setting.
