What @primus_labs actually did in the last two weeks: • 13 Oct: Primus extension updated on the Chrome Web Store • 14-15 Oct: zktls-js-sdk bumped to 0.3.15 and zktls-core-sdk to 0.3.8 on GitHub, both switching to the production signer address • 16 Oct: "Transparency proves. Privacy protects." Data hidden by default, only what must be known becomes visible • 22 Oct: quoted Bankless's Zcash Names episode: "Privacy matters. And so does making onchain data useful without compromising privacy."
2023: "decentralized credit." 2024: "zkFHE computation network." 2026: "confidential infra for institutional onchain finance." @primus_labs changed the pitch three times. The engine under it (MPC-TLS proofs + FHE) stayed the same. Day 4

I checked @primus_labs' own scorecard against public data. A project that sells verification should be verifiable, so I did the checking myself. Here's what holds up and what doesn't. Primus published a 10-minute brief for creators with its own progress numbers. I went through them one by one. The rebrand checks out. The PADO to Primus rebrand post is dated 3 Dec 2024, and PADO originally stood for "Privacy-Preserving Attestation Data Operator." Reserves are partly verifiable. The brief claims $72M+ of proof-of-reserves TVL across 4 projects. That's the team's number. The one I could check myself is Unitas: this morning its dashboard showed about $55.5M in reserves against $53.4M of USDu supply, a 1.04 backing ratio. Primus is upfront that PoR verifies data the project provides. It's not an audit. The user numbers need context. The brief says 1M+ total users, counting extension holders, Dev Hub builders and zkTLS app users together. The Chrome Web Store page for the extension alone shows 60,000. Both can be true because they measure different things, so know which one you're quoting. Decentralization is in progress. AlphaNet launched in Oct 2025 with attestors running in TEEs, and Succinct joined as an official attestor in Nov 2025. But the node guide still says operators have to be whitelisted by the team. The research is solid. The zkTLS paper (Garble-Then-Prove) was published at USENIX Security 2024, and the HasteBoots zkFHE paper is accepted for USENIX Security 2026. Top security venues, both times. PS: @UnitasLabs, the project behind the USDu stablecoin, is a Primus client. Primus runs its proof-of-reserves dashboard using zkTLS to pull data directly from the accounts holding USDu’s backing assets and prove it came unedited from those real sources. Day 2

Most people describe @primus_labs as "privacy." That's only half of it. Primus is two tools aimed at one problem: how do you use sensitive data on a public chain without exposing it? 1) zkTLS: proves that something really came from a website or API (an exchange balance, a social account, an API response) without revealing everything else. An attestor takes part in the HTTPS session and signs what the server actually sent. 2) FHE: lets smart contracts compute on encrypted numbers. On BNB Chain, Confidential Vault lets you shield $U into encrypted eU, then send it or earn yield without your balance or amounts showing on-chain. What's live today: • zkTLS SDKs + verifier contracts on multiple chains • AlphaNet (since Oct 2025): attestors running inside Phala TEEs, task contracts on Base • Proof-of-Reserves dashboards (e.g. Unitas USDu) • Confidential Vault on BNB Chain What isn't there yet: • AlphaNet node operators are still whitelisted by the team • staking penalties and governance aren't switched on • FHE keys sit in a TEE-based key service today; threshold MPC is the stated long-term plan Not a new chain. A layer that plugs into the chains we already use. This is Day 1

History of crypto agility. It started 10y ago. With all the recent AI and quantum computing fears, everyone suddenly seems to be talking about cryptographic agility. If you ever want to explore the history of cryptographic agility in decentralized ledgers and blockchains, arrange an interview with my team. We have some fascinating stories to share. Back in 2016–2017, my team pioneered cryptographic agility as a fundamental design principle for blockchains, starting with R3 Corda. We supported ECDSA (both secp256k1 and secp256r1), EdDSA, RSA, and SPHINCS, marking the first-ever support for a stateless post-quantum signature scheme in the history of blockchains and decentralized ledgers. This wasn’t just about supporting different algorithms. We were already preparing blockchain infrastructure for a post-quantum future. And there’s a great story behind why some of the world’s largest banks and financial institutions were asking us for these capabilities a decade ago. When I moved from London (R3 Corda) to Silicon Valley (Facebook’s Libra), I brought the same philosophy with me. I took cryptographic agility further, including the important architectural distinction between account addresses and authentication keys. This separation, which makes key rotation and cryptographic upgrades much easier, subsequently became a design pattern adopted by several other blockchains. There’s also an interesting story behind why we considered it essential. We carried these principles forward into Sui, which was designed with cryptographic agility from day one. That foundation enabled us to introduce native social authentication through zkLogin, support multiple signature schemes, accommodate key aliases and post-quantum cryptography, and offer native multisig without additional gas overhead. Sui’s modular design from scratch allows magical things to happen. Today, the broader blockchain community is finally recognizing how critical cryptographic agility will be in the age of AI and quantum. And while I’m genuinely happy to see this happening, I can’t help but smile. Imagine watching an architectural principle you led almost 10 years ago suddenly become one of the industry’s hottest topics. Sometimes the most important innovations aren’t the ones that make headlines when they’re introduced. They’re the ones that quietly prepare the infrastructure for a future nobody else is thinking about yet. Hire good cryptographers, the top of the world if you can, and you will be 10y ahead waving šŸ‘‹ to the future. Raised by Satoshi šŸ˜‰
