Royal Mail boss’s pay package triples to £6.9m. Cost of postage stamps rocketing RM hasn't hit delivery target for 1st-class post since 2017, 2nd-class mail since 2020. Ofcom continues to reduce targets. Bosses rewarded for fleecing people. theguardian.com/business/202…

Gordon’s scarred back exposed the brutality of slavery over 160 years ago. Today, Palestinian Mohammad Abu Tawileh’s tortured back tells a similar story. Different time, different place—but the same logic: dehumanization, domination, and violence justified in the name of power.

On the one hand we have science telling us that climate change is real. On the other hand we have oil companies telling us it isn’t. It’s just so hard to know who to believe 🤷🏻

For three days in a row the heat record for June has been broken in the UK. The same story right across Europe. Any attempts at this key moment to slow climate action is utterly indefensible. We need day one action to accelerate our climate ambition from Andy Burnham.
BREAKING: The June heat record has been broken for third day in a row. Wattisham in Suffolk has reached 36.9C, surpassing yesterday's highs of 36.7C in Merryfield, Somerset. Follow the latest: trib.al/uZEgGzo

Private equity controls UK dentistry. Initial consultation fee up by 23%, tooth extraction up by 32%. Gross profit at private equity controlled companies rose by 20% year-on-year. Profit margins of 20%-30%. Too many can't afford dental care. leftfootforward.org/2026/06/…

This heat is not only a climate emergency, it is class war. The rich burn the planet, then buy air conditioning, private pools and second homes while workers are left in overheated flats, unsafe jobs, failed public services and burning cities. Climate Action Now!

Parts of France are recording land surface temperatures above 55°C...approaching values commonly seen in the Sahara. The difference is that one is a desert. The other is supposed to be one of Europe's most productive agricultural regions. That's a very sobering thought.

The Met Office have released a theoretical forecast for 23rd June 2056. Based on current climate change trends these temperatures will be plausible during intense summer heatwaves in just a few decades.

This is the @metoffice forecast for Heathrow on Thurs. In 2022, we were told this was now a once in a 30 year event. Turns out it's once every 4 years. Why isn't this leading every news bulletin? Make climate your top election issue: VoteClimate.UK/register

The fact that climate change & how to fix it is not the number one story every single day is proof of something deep & scarily wrong with our society.
Wet bulb temperatures on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday could exceed >25°C widely. This is the critical threshold for vulnerable populations (elderly, infants, or individuals with chronic illnesses). It is also the point where anyone performing moderate to heavy physical labor or outdoor sports faces an exceptionally high risk of heat exhaustion and heatstroke.
