Three years of genocide have left Gaza's foundations of life in ruins. From hospitals and schools to businesses and essential infrastructure, the Israeli occupation has systematically destroyed the systems Palestinians depend on to survive. The genocide extends far beyond the rubble. It is the deliberate dismantling of the conditions necessary for Palestinians to live, work, learn, and rebuild in their own homeland.

The Canary, one of Britain's largest left-wing media outlets, announced on Monday 18th October 2026 that it will close indefinitely in a statement released across the organisation’s social media platforms. This decision allegedly follows the closure of its Lloyds Bank account without explanation, which impacted the organisation’s ability to operate financially. Furthermore, according to the statement, the media outlet was also subjected to former employees “spreading malicious lies” on social media, causing reputational harm to the business. “After 11 years, we take this action with deep sadness and regret. The extent of the lies, defamation and harassment by ex-staff - coupled with the constant attacks by the state and those who’d see us destroyed - has become too much.” - According to the statement released on Monday 18th October 2026. The closure raises serious questions about the pressures facing independent journalism and how outlets can survive when access to their own money is restricted. What will it take to keep independent media alive? Let us know in the comments.

When the government announced the review, the terms of reference stated: “It is not a review of the level of antisemitism in schools and colleges.” Yet the alleged level because the headline - based on a sample of 70 students. 29 said they'd personally experienced antisemitism
The government's antisemitism in schools report is a travesty. It's riddled with errors, distortions and contradictions. And it will be used to silence people over Palestine 👇 zeteo.uk/p/debunked-the-anti…

Promising the mass expulsion of Palestinians from #Gaza and depicting those who remain as donkeys, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir turns dehumanisation into an election campaign. Palestinian lives and rights are not campaign material. Using genocidal rhetoric to win votes normalises atrocities and rewards those who promise to commit more.

In Gaza, many children have had their childhood defined by fear and violence. This is reflected in what they draw during mental health counselling sessions: quadcopters, tents, queues for food, rubble. msf.org/children-gaza-draw-t…

After just two or three days of closed crossings, Gaza is already sounding the alarm. Aid deliveries fall far short of what is needed, families have nowhere to store food, and cuts to assistance are leaving displaced people with fewer lifelines.

Palestinian children are burned alive in their tents, yet Western media finds it controversial to call them martyrs. Investigative journalist @jeremyscahill confronts the hypocrisy of scrutinizing how Palestinians mourn their dead while the Israeli genocide responsible for their deaths continues.

Israeli Knesset Member Yulia Malinovsky of the opposition Yisrael Beiteinu party participated in blocking aid trucks destined for the Gaza Strip as part of an election campaign this morning. Crowds of Palestinians pressed against a food distribution point in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, as cuts to food aid push families back toward famine. The scenes come days after the World Food Programme cut food assistance in Gaza by about a third, citing funding shortages. Some 500,000 people lost aid, and WFP now reaches 1.1 million people, down from 1.6 million in September. Families now get one food parcel instead of two, and daily hot meals have fallen from 250,000 to 150,000. WFP says it needs $450 million to keep operations running through March. About 1.4 million people in Gaza, two-thirds of the population, face crisis-level hunger or worse, and 200,000 need immediate food aid to avoid starvation, according to the UN. 🎥 Shehab News (Telegram)
🚨 BREAKING: Half a million Palestinians in Gaza will lose monthly food assistance as funding shortages force major World Food Programme cuts ahead of winter, ABC News Australia reports. ➤ WFP is reducing its monthly reach from 1.6 million people to 1.1 million. Families receiving two food parcels will now get one, and flour bags will shrink. ➤ Daily hot meals have fallen from 250,000 to 150,000. Some families in hard-to-reach areas will receive meals every other day instead of daily. Cash assistance for 75,000 families is being cut by 40%. ➤ WFP’s Carl Skau said traditional donors, including the U.S. and Europe, have reduced funding. “It’s not because the needs are down … it’s only due to the lack of funding,” Skau told ABC. ➤ Around 1.4 million people face crisis-level hunger or worse, including 200,000 in emergency conditions. WFP says it urgently needs $450 million for six months of operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

He was walking home with food for his children, and he never made it. An Israeli occupation drone fired a missile at him in Gaza City today, in broad daylight, in an area crowded with displaced families. The strike was so powerful that his remains were scattered across the walls, along with the food he had bought for his family, and several others were wounded. “A poor, decent man who kept to himself,” a man at the scene says. “So the Arabs and the Arab states know what America and Israel are doing to the Palestinian people.” Somewhere in Gaza City, his children were waiting for their father and their dinner. A year into the ceasefire, Israeli drones are still killing people on their way home, and more than 1,520 Palestinians have been killed since it took effect. aymanalhesi (IG)

“The world sees us dying every day before its eyes. What will move it?” A Palestinian in Gaza describes what three years of engineered famine have done to people’s bodies. After the first famine, the Israeli occupation let in a little flour and a few canned goods, and families were so grateful they kissed the bread. But a body cannot live on flour alone, and people are now worn down by malnutrition, brittle bones and one illness after another. When meat is let in, it comes frozen and at prices few can afford, and eggs are left to spoil at the crossings before they reach anyone. Even at pre-genocide prices, most families couldn’t afford to buy food now, after three years of losing their homes and their work. This is the hunger the Israeli occupation is keeping in place a year into the ceasefire. It promised 600 trucks a day, and this week an Israeli official claimed 250 were enough. This week, too, the World Food Programme cut aid to half a million people. maherhabboush (IG)
