People carry on believing this shit.
The blood of both Russian and Ukrainian soldiers and civilians shed after spring 2022 is on Boris Johnson’s hands for his part in discouraging a deal and encouraging prolonged fighting

You don't even have to go back 5 years. I presume these have morphed into NATIONALIZE STARLINK NOW accounts
5 years ago: Starlink is such a stupid idea. Anyone wasting money investing in this Musk scam deserves to lose everything. Today: Starlink is essential to the defense of an invaded nation. Access to Starlink is a human right! Nationalize it!

*international fascist movement* 😂😂🤣🤣🤣😜 This is as barking as the people who go on about globalists and the WEF.
I think this becomes quite understandable in the context of an international fascist movement that has swept much of the planet in a decade, with horrifying and very extreme consequences for the entire species

This is simply retail politics. Burnham dangles a nice juicy worm in front of Lib Dem oriented remainiacs, catches him some more voters to boost his poll numbers. But won't change anything because he's holding angry redwallers off with a chair.
NEW There is some confusion over Andy Burnham's position on Brexit Earlier this morning: Reporter asks: "Will you allow the UK to join the EU freedom of movement without a referendum?" Andy Burnham says: "No. And I wasn't saying that", adding that he would "never move ahead of the British public when it comes to Brexit". 11.30am Lobby briefing: Number 10 will now not say whether the British public will get a referendum on rejoining EU freedom of movement. A spokesman says: "The process will be set out in due course ... He wants to have an open debate about this.... there are no options on the table." What do you think? More now on @GBNEWS.

Lidl spent time (and money) carefully trying to design a store that would have positive aesthetic appeal for the local area. NIMBYs opposed it regardless.
Underratedly funny detail of this NIMBY extravaganza is that the Lidl literally would’ve been built with local stone

This is repeated often and it is nonsense. Compared to Venezuela electing Chavez or communists taking power in Cuba, Brexit is a pinprick. Even modest stupidities (the 1947 Town & Country Planning Act or the new poor law of the 1830s for example) did far more economic damage

Seems to me that the failings of those 14 years from 2010-2024, at least in the minds of the public, boil down to: Not controlling immigration/integration & asylum Energy policy and Net Zero Lack of economic growth There are two other issues that were partly or wholly outside government control - Brexit and Covid. There are other things that aren't unpopular but are a problem: Pensions Welfare payments Defence spending Domestic politics driving foreign policy Planning and regulatory controls Plus a general weariness with the pettiness and sleaziness of politics something people associate with the last Tory government.

Any thoughts 👇
What, specifically, were the things that weren't done or were done wrong 2010-2024? Bear in mind that for 7 of those 14 years the Tories were in coalition or a minority.

BBC Wildlife's Group Editor has told the Moorland Association he agrees "completely" that its red grouse entry could mislead readers. The entry was on a Discover Wildlife list headed "10 ecosystem killers: Destructive, brutal animals that destroy entire habitats". Yet the entry itself said red grouse are not an invading species and are not especially destructive on their own. It also said Scotland's heather moorlands are low in biodiversity and poor at storing carbon. It made no attempt to tell one type of moorland from another, or land in good condition from degraded land. We complained on 14 October. We sent published NatureScot guidance and findings from the Scottish Government's independent Werritty Review. Paul McGuinness, who edits BBC Wildlife and BBC Countryfile Magazine, replied on 16 October. He has removed the whole grouse entry and published a correction. He has also told his team to take care not to mislead readers. Evidence from degraded sites, or from one way of managing land, does not apply to every heather moorland. When coverage claims it does, the MA will challenge it. Read more — link in replies:

Replying to @lukas_ohl
The peculiar thing is that all the non-Tory folk can't tell us what was done wrong either. And then offer solutions that miss the entire issue (send the blacks home, nationalise water, bring back feet and inches, ban pylons).

26 October 1929. London’s buses began to be painted predominantly red (pictured is a 1930 model). In fact, the bus roofs remained largely white or silver, to reflect sunlight and thereby reduce heat in the summer.
