I've been making 8-bit covers of classical music for a new game lately. Having only made music with a computer myself, it's really given me a new perspective on composition, and how digital rigidity has been limiting my ideas.

As a game gets more complex, there are more opportunities to make the wrong decision. By sticking with a simple system, you let a game design itself rather than a developer design a game. AAA never thinks this way anymore, and profit motive echoes in the developer's louder voice
