even the squirrels need a break from life
In clips from places like London and Philadelphia, squirrels are seen holding and chewing on vape devices, which makes it look like they are smoking. Experts say the animals are likely attracted to the fruity smell of the vapes, not nicotine.

@RepoleStable Appreciate the transparency and the invitation for ideas. Here’s a practical way to keep the Battlehawks at the Dome while fixing the 4-home / 5-road stretch and doing right by St. Louis fans:
Finish training camp in Arlington, then base the Battlehawks in St. Louis for the first five weeks of the season. Secure short-term player and staff housing so the team is fully embedded in the market. Front-load their first four home games at the BattleDome during that window, then play their fifth “home” game at Fort Leonard Wood as a Hats Off to Heroes military appreciation game for the troops! similar to the historic Fort Hood game the league hosted last year. Fort Leonard Wood is only a couple hours from St. Louis, so it still functions as a regional home date while giving the team a meaningful way to honor service members.
During the five-week residency, lean into local presence: open practices, community events, youth clinics, season-ticket member dinners, and player appearances. Use the stretch as a concentrated marketing push to drive early ticket sales and re-energize the market. Film a short documentary series following the team’s time in St. Louis and the Fort Leonard Wood game, great content that highlights both the fan base and the league’s military outreach.
After the five weeks, return to the hub. Slot one game around Week 7 or 8 in Dallas so the remaining road stretch isn’t five straight. Other teams travel weekly anyway, so the early clustered homes still give St. Louis a strong start (they’ve already had an extra home game in recent years). The temporary residency and military game more than offset the schedule compression by creating real local access, energy, and goodwill.
This also works as a low-risk pilot. The hub model saves money, but it limits true market presence and season-ticket engagement. Testing a short “home residency” with one team, plus a regional military date, could inform how the league handles future scheduling or market development without abandoning the centralized model.
St. Louis fans have shown they’ll show up and travel. Giving them a concentrated, high-visibility home stretch, plus a special game for the troops nearby, turns a tough schedule constrain into something that feels intentional and fan-focused. Worth exploring.
Honestly this might give me the vibe of the 2025 SA Brahmas season where they had to play 4 Games at home and 6 road games. Hopefully they get this situated soon. Unless they play at Busch Stadium for a couple games
Big week of @TheUFL meetings on both the business and football operations sides as we prepare for 2027.
As promised, the UFL will be TRANSPARENT. On AND off the field!!!!
Today, our team presented stadium availability for all eight UFL teams. Seven venues offered significant flexibility. Unfortunately, St. Louis was the exception.
Based on the BattleDome dates currently available, the @BattlehawksUFL would play FOUR straight home games, followed by FIVE consecutive road games, and potentially return home for Week 10.
FOUR HOME GAMES. FIVE ROAD GAMES.
Sorry, but that just DOESN’T WORK FOR US!!!!
This isn’t your old spring football league. We’re going to do things DIFFERENTLY!!!! That means better planning, better partnerships, more marketing, more transparency, and most importantly, putting our FANS FIRST!!!!
St. Louis has one of the most passionate fan bases in football. These fans arrive early, stay late, and travel to support their team. I experienced it firsthand at the BattleDome and watching Battlehawks fans travel to Louisville.
I promised St. Louis we would do more, starting with bringing the UFL Draft to St. Louis on November 18.
But promises mean nothing without action!!!!
As a UFL owner, I have a responsibility to explore ALL options in St. Louis that might provide better dates, more flexibility, and a more collaborative partnership.
That doesn’t mean we’re leaving the BattleDome. It means we’re going to explore every opportunity to make the experience BETTER for our fans.
We need to work together with our stadium partners, and we also need to challenge ourselves as a league to do better.
Our fans deserve the best possible schedule, dates, times, and game-day experience.
BATTLEHAWKS FANS AND UFL FANS, I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!!
Any ideas or suggestions???
