E-Bikes are about 25x more energy-efficient than e-cars. A rough calculation.
(64kwh car = 400km; 0,5kwh bike = 80km. Bike does 128*80 = 10.240km with 64kwh. 10240/400=25x)
(Range of 64kwh car can be between 300 and 450km, 0,5 kWh Bike can be between 60 and 125km)
The rider has to provide (additional) human energy to pedal.
That makes the e-bike less efficient from an energy point of view.
I do see that as an efficiency gain instead of a loss. Even with very moderate human support there are health benefits which (imho)outweigh this.
