We just held our second 'Survival of the Sickest' junior comp at Flo in Nottingham, which was amazing! For some of the skaters, it was the first time they had entered a competition or had even been to a comp, so to have this experience among friends & family was priceless. #SBGB

Had so much fun at @SkateparkFlo for the Skateboard GB Hub Competition! The talent from across the country, and the visible solidarity and mutual respect in the skateboarding community, was incredible. Congratulations to Notts’ own Miriam Nelson for winning the women’s 👊🏽

So this topic from my research has been picked up by a lot of media the last week. The guardian has done a good job of adding some balance. Skateboarding in middle age: ‘It helps me switch off’ theguardian.com/lifeandstyle…

Skateboarding in middle age: ‘It helps me switch off’

It’s good for mental health, a study found, but what’s it like being an older person at the skatepark?

I've been blessed with lots of wonderful stories from #olderskaters the last couple of days... some quite emotional. The @guardian wants to hear more. theguardian.com/sport/2022/j…

8 weeks of work, in under a minute. Whilst we provided the materials & guidance, it was the team from the @VIYproject project who helped 30 young volunteers to get this work done, finally reopening the Flo Skatepark in Nottingham, making a difference to their community 👏
