THE CEASEFIRE HAS COMMENCED
The ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia took effect at 4:00am Moscow time on October 27, 2026.
Timing was accelerated two days ahead of schedule to protect the safety of civilians and to facilitate the delivery of critical humanitarian aid. The ceasefire’s geographic area has expanded beyond Oleshky, within the Kherson Region, to provide safe passage for the humanitarian convoys.
General Valery Gerasimov, Joint Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces has confirmed.

When I was in Community College I had the best Photography Professor there could be, he had apprenticed under Ansel Adams, so I did community college until I couldn't any more.
I was the teacher assistant. Part of my duties beyond the chemistry, was training the students, especially beginners, how to do things from loading film to printing.
I also tutored.
But one day my Professor was looking at my Solarizations and commenting that they were 'different' and he asked if he could watch me process them.
I don't like being 'supervised', but I made an exception.
From that day forward I taught every beginning student how to Solarize. Every one is truly a one of a kind, but I could not only predict results easier, they were closer to consistent results than any other way of doing them.
It wasn't a ground-breaking improvement. I didn't get paid more to do it. But to be recognized by my Professor, someone who understood what that praise meant, was pretty awesome.
Point? The people that matter care.
