My mum took some of this stew to her shop today with the spaghetti I made yesterday (she kept hers in the fridge). When she got back from work, she went straight to the kitchen, found the rice my sister made this morning that I left, and took the stew again. She came into the room with the plate of rice and saw me on my phone. The first thing she said was, “Wetin woman wan really take do yanga for you?” I burst out laughing. 😂 She wasn’t lying, cos one reason I take pride in cooking, cleaning, being organized and trying my best to make ends meet is so someone’s daughter won’t tell me that’s what they bring to the table for me to enjoy just because I can’t do them myself. Anyway, see it as it may, this is a wake up call, if you’re gonna be in someone’s life, bring actual values. Most of the things yall take pride in are outdated if we’re being honest. Not bragging, but if you’ll wow me as a woman, it won’t be because you can cook and clean. It has to be something more tangible than that.
